As are you, my friend! ❤️
Thank you, precious Kelley! 💛
This is wonderful and I am so happy that you are one of those who make a clear decision to turn to the dark or the light side. I just had a conversation with someone who digs into the dark and wonders why they don’t see the sun. I am with you, humanity has so many problems to solve it created over decades (or weeks), but it doesn’t change the fact that there is this other side too from which we draw our energy and power. Thanks for this beautiful reminder, dear soul sister 💖
Keep showing us the face of Christ through your words, Karla, His beauty, and the blood of the Cross which disperses the doom and gloom to make way for Easter’s sunrise! Thank you for turning our eyes to Him, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, “who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hallelujah! Love you, dear sister.
Dora, thank you, precious friend! What an encouragement! The speaker on Sunday put the name Jesus on display. “Who is he to you?,” he asked. He shared about what Jesus was to him as a young man, teenager, and college (it was funny and relatable!). When you REALLY know HIM, he becomes so much more. Isn’t that true about anyone we grow an intimate relationship?
It’s easy to forget about the wonder and miracle that this season holds because of what HE did for US. I tear up just thinking about it. But smile, too. I love you too, Dora. Thank you for being here and supporting my journey. Many blessings to you and yours!
Your Sunday speaker nailed it. It makes the journey worth it, doesn’t it, getting to know him, rely on him, wait on him? Maybe that’s why St. Paul said, “Count it all joy . . . ” I’ve a long way to go, but every once in a while, I know what he means and it makes all the difference.
Beautiful, Dora. So precious. I’ve a long way to go, too. Well keep the faith and joy together ❤️🙏🏻❤️
You are loved, as well, my friend! And I thank God every day for your encouragement and uplifting attitude! 💜
Thank you so much, my friend! You’re a blessing! Ditto! 💗🤗🙏🏼
💜🙏
Beautiful poem, my friend! May we always look to the empty tomb where death was defeated when Hallelujah He arose! Love you, sweet friend 🙏🏻🩵🌸✝️🎶🩷🌼💚🌺🙏🏻
Thank you, dear sweet Pam. You’re an inspiration to me as I know you live that faith hourly! There are many Hallelujahs in heaven right now.❤️🎶🙏🏻 I love you so much!
🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻
Puts things into perspective, doesn’t it? We need that perspective in this world. Thank you!
It does! Thank you, my friend! ❤️🙏🏻♥️
Ditto, dear friend. We can never “overlearn” that we are loved and that we matter.
Great poem Karla. You weather your circumstances well. You let the Son shine thru.
Thank you, dear friend! May HE always shine through it all. I’m praying for all of you. I pray you and the girls are weathering well.🙏🏻
Thank you, Mitch. 🙏🏻 Amen. I appreciate you so much, dear friend.
We always need reminders.
Thank you, my friend ❤️🙏🏻
Your poetry reveals your inner being. I have enjoyed dabbling in poetry because it allows me to do the same. Like song writing must be that way too. We embellish words, say what’s on our mind and in our heart. We teach deeply inside ourselves in search of words that aren’t used much anymore. In doing so we open ourselves and come closer to God. The Psalms are like that. Paul also kept a journal when we went through all our financial woes. As I read through it, I was reminded of David’s psalms as he opened his heart to God. Long story short, I love your poetry and I love you too.
Mama K, this is heartwarming and precious. I read your poetry and feel your heart and soul. It’s beautiful. Thank you for your kind words.
I feel I’m a simple poet with simple thoughts. When words hit me in this way it’s like a song in my head. It’s so refreshing to be here with other dabblers and journal keepers. God bless you (and Paul’s precious legacy). I love you! ❤️ 🙏🏻🤗♥️
Hello my little sis, wow, I absolutely love the way you think! Let the new life of spring usher in hope, joy and love! These are difficult times but I appreciate how you remind us that we are deeply loved. Hang on to each other, we’ll make it through, God has us, always and forever. I truly believe this to be true. Love you my dear friend, sending love and prayers your way. Hugs, c
Hello, big sis. Aww thank you so much! I’m practicing gratefulness constantly. I’m reminding myself of my blessings and the gift of life. Even in the tough stuff, there’s beauty around. Christ’s sacrifice, as gruesome as it was, ended up being the most beautiful path to an eternity without pain or any of this worldly wreck! It’s a peace I’ll never let go of, C. I’m so happy you believe this too!
Thank you for being here and supporting me. I love you and appreciate your support and prayers too! ❤️💕♥️🙏🏻🤍🤗
❤️🌸
❤️💕🥰🤗 thank you, MAK
a stirring poem; thanks Karla: I needed that 🙂
Thank you, John! That means so much to me. I’m glad you enjoyed it, my friend 🙏🏻🤗
That is a very powerful and loving poem Karla. It brought me to tears to be reminded of its meaning…Christs meaning…love’s meaning. Thank you faiths soldier, you draw so many simply because of that beacon you are 🤗❤️
Big hugs to you, Finn, and family kind lady. May you be healed in heart and mind for your journey and reach that love that He is 🤗🥰❤️🙏
Thank you, Mark. You’re so kind and thoughtful, my friend.
That love is one that is tear evoking! The sacrifice and grace~ it’s overwhelming!
May you feel that healing power and love too, my friend. Finn and I send our prayers and love across the big deep blue!🤍🙏🏻♥️🤗🐾 🐬 🌊
Thank you Karla, it is gratefully received kind lady 🤗🥰
It is coming to a special time of year, that sacrifice so that we can see a truth. I’m not sure what is happening to me but after years of barely giving it a thought…it is opening to me. Especially after that little girl I encountered ‘touched’ my heart so incredibly. Just as you do Karla, sharing your truth on here for many, as only His love can do through you 🤗❤️
Big hugs special lady, lots of that love and light that I found coming across the big blue to you guys too. Special delivery, you’ll hear the splashing and calls wherever you are 🐬🤗🤣🐾🦓🎶🕊️🦋❤️🙏
I love how Easter is in the spring, at least in the northern hemisphere,. Spring new flowers grow, life is back in full force much like Jesus when we was resurrected.
Karla, Hope comes from Faith that is informed by Grace that is based on Love… I’m keeping afloat with an abundance of love, grace, faith and hope!!
Yes, Dear Karla, there are many signs of the time these days that we must pay attention to. He is speaking to us. He is coming sooner than we think. He is at the door. Time to prepare our hearts to see Him! Great Poem Girl!
Love you always and forever! 🌈🙏🎶❤️💞🤗🥰🌹
A beautiful piece of writing Karla.
Aw, thank you, dear Sadje! I appreciate you! ❣️💚🥰
You’re very welcome
I love your poem, Karla. It’s beautiful. Did you paint the watercolor of the trees under Hebrews 11:1? Great post today! Thank you for spreading love and encouragement! May God bless you (and Finn) abundantly! 🙏💕🤗🐾
Thank you, sweet Cindy! I cannot take credit for that watercolor! It was made using AI with a picture on Canva. It’s so pretty isn’t it? Thank you for being here, dear friend. I’m so happy you feel the love and encouragement. You do just that for me too. I’m so grateful for you. God bless you and Henry! I’m praying for you and your family, sweet sister. 🙏🏼🥰❣️🐾
AMEN to all of that! I just love the pulsing possibility that comes with this time of year. The resurrection of all those “dead” tree branches really sets the tone for the resurrection reminder that comes with every Easter. New life is everywhere! I hope your journey on the road of healing continues and grows. Blessings to you this New Day.
Thank you, Russell! How are you both doing? Are you finding new healing and restoration too? We needed Spring! I appreciate your prayers, wisdom, and encouragement so much!
My journey continues. Like all of us, hour by hour, day by day. Some better than others. Through it all, I hold on to joy. I have some new symptoms after stopping certain medication for acid reflux (it’s returned!) and the bone pain, digestion, …it’s a time-consuming disease. For 5-6 hours a day I can do most things that need to be done. But I notice fatigue coming back, with the back and left hip/knee, I’m careful so I don’t “risk” hills or steps haphazardly. It’s interesting, Russell. On a day that I substitute, I pray, “Jesus, I give everyone and every thing to you. Give me strength.” I’ve yet had to cancel a 1/2 day. But I’ll come home and can barely lift my arms some days. The symptoms keep me focused on faith and continuously in prayer. There is a new chemo that was approved for this cancer. I’m in the process of seeing how that might work for me financially and medically. There’s so much research going on. I’m so curious on the bone metastases. As much as I know the goal is to keep the organs healthy, keeping me upright and moving is essential to my well-being and lifestyle. It’s a marathon, as you know well (and so does your amazing wife!). I’ll keep on keepin’ on and taking one day at a time. I’ll use wisdom and discernment as I “listen” to obey what to do each day. I try very hard to not worry about tomorrow. The enemy likes to tempt me to; but I use the power of the Spirit within to trample it. I never dreamed that disease could be so much “work”; but I know WHO has it ALL. That gives me a peace I won’t lose. Blessings and prayers for you both, dear friend. 🙏🏼🥰
Just like the return of spring, I believe love can grow again from the ashes of hate and divisiveness. Thank you for your beautiful poem and the questions it poses to make us think!
Thank you, dear Dwight. I share your belief. Your support, wisdom, and encouragement mean so much, dear friend/Uncle!
:>) You are most welcome.
Oh goodness – a post that brought some tears to my eyes. I’m doing my best to hang on tight to my faith, and my belief that we will find a way through the dark. Sending you love and hugs!
Thank you, precious M.B. I’m so happy to hear you’re doing your best to hang tight to faith. It’s not always easy, but we know the light overcomes the darkness. I saw a new article from you and I hope to get over there soon. Sending you much love and hugs too, dear friend. We’ll keep on keepin’ on!
That we will – thanks to your posts that always make us feel better!!
Aww MB ❤️🥰♥️🤗
Karla, your poem shares the contrasting landscape of these times. Blessed be your timeless message of grace, found only in Jesus Christ. God’s peace be with you.
Richard, your kindness is affirmation about the contrast of these times in which I write! Thank you! I’ve been reading John Eldridge’s new book, Experience Jesus. Really. He shared there’s only two “countries” in this world~ The Kingdom of God and the World. Darkness and light. As easy as it is for us to walk in the world’s way ~the comforts and claims~ choosing to turn our back on the world and finding refuge in Jesus is the only WAY to find true refuge. You know this more than me! The longer I live, the less the world has any “hold” on my heart. Peace and blessings to you and yours, dear friend.
Beautiful post, Karla. I KNOW where we are all headed is beautiful and that is the perspective of my lens I live my life. Faith is critical to keep our heads above the carnage. I’ve just come back and I’m so glad you are still here!! So much LOVE to you!! ~Amy
Amy! I’m grinning ear to ear! Thank you! Amen to know how it all “ends!”
It’s so wonderful to SEE your name, HEAR your voice through your words, and feel the love in your heart! I’m so happy to know you’re back and I pray you are well. I love you, sweet friend. I’m giving a welcome back hug and hope you feel it!❤️🙏🏻
I’m GRINNING right back at you, Karla! I am so so touched by your boisterous and eager and warm welcome back you extended to me. To “feel” your aliveness is medicine to my soul! I am well, more than at any time of my life. I FEEL your hug and another thank you! BIG HUGS back!! I have a few posts up since I have put my toe back in WP so whenever you are ready do come and visit. I do send you SO much LOVE!!! ❤️
Sip sip—I’m on my way there now! ❤️
beautiful Karla, all the comments you awkward get show just how loved you are. Faith is a hard road but it shows that we can’t do this alone.
Thank you, dear friend. I always enjoy our “family” here~ that’s what we’ve become! Your view on faith resonates with me. Just as God is always with us, when we have friends and family support, like here, it’s so encouraging. Our WordPress friends are unlike any other social media out there. It’s such a blessing and a faith filler! You’re a blessing to me, Gary. You inspire me.🙏🏻❤️
What a beautiful Easter poem! Thank you Karla.
Good writing, Karla. It stirred many folks to comment. The death of our Savior cleared the way for the resurrected life of our Savior to be lived in us who choose to be emptied vessels for His honor. I find myself forgetting at times that it is His resurrected life in me. Why would I want anything of my own life if His life and being in me is the grand offer of our redemption and restoration?
Jesus told the thief, “This day you will be with me in Paradise.” As Jewish men living amidst the Hebrew faith, both Jesus and the thief knew what He meant. Paradise to the Jews referred to the Garden of Eden, the original and unsullied union and communion with their God that had been lost. Though they longed for this distant-past reality, they had little expectation of ever seeing it.
The promise of Jesus to the man was that of restoration to the Garden, to the life of God lived in him and the the life of union with the Godhead. I cannot imagine the peace and comfort that word would bring to the condemned man.
Today, many will look at Easter as a cultural holiday. Some will look at it as the deliverance from a well deserved punishment. Few will look at it as the restoration of the Garden to those who will embrace it. The Garden! The very life of our God lived in and through us! Rivers of living water flowing from our innermost beings because the Holy Spirit is living and effervescing there!
May we all find the Paradise of God, the Garden of union and communion, to be our reality this season and always.
A very worn-out Rascal sends his best to you both. We returned this morning from nine days of travel in Montana during which he played endlessly with another energetic dog. He slept all the way home is is still sacked out!
God bless us in His garden, everyone!
Tim, thank you, dear friend. Your words resonate in my soul! The restoration to the Garden—the union and communion—it’s REAL! Once you find it, you’ll never let that peace and truth leave. Thank you for being a vessel of truth and promise AND sharing that with others! How can keep this to ourselves, right? I understand about some seeing Easter as a cultural tradition. This morning I was thinking of Jesus entering Jerusalem—palm leaves waving in excitement and anticipation of his visit—to just a “flip” of those leaves and attitudes to yell, “Crucify Him!” It brings tears to my eyes. It hurts. But HE felt and took that pain. For you, me, and everyone! Such great news to share every day! Your wisdom and walk with Christ has been such a great testimony to me and so many others. I appreciate you so much.
More great news? You were in Montana for 9 days! How amazing! I love that state so much—even more, dogs! Tee hee. Yay that Rascal had another play partner! I can imagine how worn out you both must be! God bless you, dear friend (and Rascal, too!).
“He slept all the way home is and is still sacked out!” My editor needs and editor.
Tee hee—I never noticed that, Tim! LOL
Wonderful poem, Karla. Faith and hope, sprinkled with love, can move mountains.
Thank you, precious Jennie! How beautiful! YES! 🤍
😍 ❤️ 🥰
Nice poem. You are one Hale of a poet. Sorry it took me so long to read it, but I’ve been on vacation the past few weeks. I hope you have a happy Easter next week.
Tippy! I just mentioned you at C’s place. Thank you, dear friend! I hope you had an amazing vacation! Yay! I’ll have a busy week~ I’ll work at one school and then head to my youngest son’s house to visit all of them and return to celebrate Easter here with my parents. I’m blessed! And hoping my body will keep up with all my heart wants to do. I hope you have an amazing week too!
The heart can be very demanding of the body. Here’s to your health, and may you always keep your heart happy.
Thank you, dear friend. Wise words!❤️
I choose to write another comment, this one highlighting how talented you are with words! I read your poem several times and didn’t even know YOU wrote it until I arrived at the bottom and out loud I said, “Oh wow, Karla! Your’e good!” Exactly this ….. we have a choice on what we create, on what we focus on. That choice for you and me and many here I see, is through the Light of Love that God has created us with. As we spread our Light and Love together, the storm abates. One by one those who spew hate shall cease, and the true Peace on Earth shall reign.
Every time I mean to say something about YOU my fingers type words that just wont’ be stopped. The Signs of the Times …. Spirit FLOWS through those whose hearts and minds are open. Much LOVE to you, dear One. 🌈
Aww, Amy. Tears of joy and love! Thank you, dear sister. ❤️💕🥹🙏🏻 🌈
❤️❤️❤️
You are such a good influence Karla! That was beautiful and encourages us not to live in doom and gloom but instead find the good about everything.
Diane, thank you for your precious words and encouragement! Many blessings! 💕🙏🏻
God’s Continued Blessings Karla. Happy and Blessed Easter.
You Are Loved…
