Pure Poetry

Many weeks ago, a friend and fellow blogger/poet/author Kelley Morris, wrote this amazing poem to accompany a photo I shared on my blog. How fitting that this poem has taken on a whole new meaning for me after this week. If you have the opportunity, please stop by Kelley’s site (and check out her collections of poetry books). Please enjoy this pure poetry!

A bright, white light
bore a perfect hole
through the middle of sunset.
No argument over
stopping for a photo.
It was as if the sky was on fire.
But fire would have devoured.
And this dusky scene held steady,
like a brilliantly lit painting,
carefully placed
in a prestigious gallery.
The light was so bright.
I almost looked away.
Then, suddenly, the image
transformed, the clouds
once again whole.
Sunlight remained, filling
the entire space within and
between the clouds,
highlighting the edges of each.
A perfect reflection of
the only Light able to
pierce the heart before
filling the entirety of the soul.
A perfect likeness
of the only Love able to
fill all the spaces
within and between us.
Holding us steady, like
delicate white-hot glass,
smoothing our rough edges.

My precious cousin, Sagan, wrote this poem to share with me last week! I featured her a couple of years ago in a “Talk About Tuesday” post for her senior year accomplishments. Today she and I are going to collaborate together to create a Renga poem (in honor of my son headed to Japan soon).

What the Word
Words are spoken, words are said
Some words are even read
Words hold power like a blooming flower
Petals wilting in the sun
Words have triggers just like guns
Shooting bullets at hyper speed
Words can spread like unwanted weeds
Ripping them from the ground
Words can weigh a hundred pounds
Your muscles become dull and weak
Words can flow just like a creek
Water has no concept of time
Words may pucker like a lime
Citric acid burns your throat
In which words have the ability to coat
But be careful of what you say
For your words can alter someone’s day
If your words are really nice
Their bad day could be sacrificed
But if your words are rather vulgar
That person may become an ogre.
So be kind and don't be curt
What you say can really hurt
Sagan Wilson

It’s not always easy, friends, but I pray you keep the faith and have HOPE. You are loved. 💚

    1. Tippy, you’re a poet,
      And I DID know it.

It’s a good thing your words are funny,
      they’re not sticky like honey.

You don’t want to admit your kinda nice,
Most things don’t make you think twice.

It would definitely take sticks and stones
      to break your bones
He’s learning the piano, I must warn,
so please leave his fingers alone!

You’re a great friend and punny,
I’m sure others, like me, think you’re funny! 🤗😊❣️

      1. What a nice little poem. And hey, I keep improving on the piano. I’ve gone from being horrible to being just awful.

It always brightens my day to hear from you, so thanks for adding a smile to my face. 🤪

    1. Thank you, dear friend. I can only imagine that beautiful sunset. The circumstances and context–so true, Gary.
It’s amazing to me how God uses it all. No matter the passage of time, its significance and meaning never change.
My last day in Alaska a rainbow appeared, Gary. There’s so much my feeble mind can’t comprehend and I’m happy about that. I love the mystery of his ways and faith. God bless my Fultz family. Give the girls my love, hugs, and prayers, always.

A beautiful share, Karla. Supernatural, words and experiences are truly Heavenly connections. Heavenly blessed wishes to you always and to your son’s journey abroad. ❤️💕❤️🕊️ AOC has attempted to comment on previous posts and met weird challenges.🫩

    1. Hello, precious friend! I’m so sorry you’ve had challenges on WP~ I understand and have a shared experience!
Heavenly and supernatural ~ two beautiful things that keep me living with faith expecting miracles!
Sending love and hugs AOC 🙏💕 ☕️

  2. My heart is cruising nicely Karla. The sun is beginning to warm down here, the dolphins are back after so much flooding in the lake, and I got up this morning with the arrival of four swans. And I just ‘know’ the love behind it all 🤗❤️

Great to hear your son is going adventuring in this incredible world kind lady. I have had friends go at different times this year over there to Japan, and all said it was a delightful journey. I think to ‘see’ those places imprints it so differently from our own ‘home’, and truly gives an appreciation of the many delights this world has 🤗

Glad to hear from you also my friend, I hope all is going well. The games have begun so your cheers must be beginning to tune for another season 🤣 And I hope the 49’ers are coming to the party this year 🤣

Big hugs coming across the big blue to you and Finn via dolphin courier. I pray they don’t splash you guys too much 🤗🤣😂

Lots of love and light coming over to you both 🤗😊🥰🤣😂😀😎🛵🥾🐾🦓🎶🦋🕊️🐬❤️

    1. Mark, I’m so happy to hear your heart is cruising nicely! I know you were ready for the warmth to come back. Hello to the swans and dolphins!

I can imagine Jarrod’s experience in Japan will be such a wonderful learning time (and work!). I know his wife wishes she and the kids could go, too.

So far all is still going well, dear friend. I’m taking it one day at a time. God is good!

So,…who are the 49’er’s, Mark? Tee hee. I heard the Chiefs played today (or ARE playing?). I’ve been having so much fun writing with my young cousin, taking care of Finn, and just being, that I haven’t though at all about it! My life is so quiet today –I heard two great messages this morning and it’s been a delightful day.

We feel the big hugs and send them to you. Yay for the dolphin couriers! I don’t mind splashes, Mark. It’s still very hot here! Fall may try and appear in the next couple of weeks I pray!
Is your website still up and running? I’m not receiving notifications like normal on several bloggers. I try to keep up on email, but I don’t think I’m getting everyone?
      😊💛❣️🐾🤗🦓❤️🌈🐬🦢🌞

We love you and hope you have an amazing and blessed week!

      1. Oh, a work trip. I missed that bit, it didn’t click. Of which he will have plenty of those to do then to take back many pictures for his wife and kids and share it all 🤣

I’m waiting for someone to do the cherry blossom time, they say it is a delight to see but its not till March onward. No matter, any journey to another place will have its adventures. I’m going to heaven and I hear tell it outdoes them all Karla. But hopefully a bit later, I’ll appreciate it a bit more by then 🤣❤️

Waving to the swans and dolphins for you as I have a coffee out on my balcony on a lovely 24C day. Website still up and going but I’ve been a bit quiet, haven’t done a post for a while. I think I’m just too excited with the warmth I can feel coming. But yes, WP has its days. I find I can do one thing one day but not the next…then back again 🤗🐬

49’ers…mmm, let me see. I think I can still hear them in the background there somewhere Karla 🤣😎

Ooh, you ‘heard’ messages kind lady? I pray your heart is on fire and can hear all He has to say kind lady 🤗❤️

And as it is still warm there I’ll make sure the dolphins give you both a good splashing in the delivery. Many blessings returned Karla, light from the highest, and love deep and pure my friend. Have a great week and I hope skooter is still being a blessing too. Take care 🤗😊🥰🤣😂😀😎🛵🥾🐾🦓🎶🦢🦋🕊️🐬🐳❤️

      2. No worries, Mark! Yes, he’s on the flight as I type!
Wont heaven outdo it all? Can you just imagine? Yay!
Thank you for waving to the ocean friends! I’m
So happy you’re soaking up the warmth, sipping coffee, and just enjoying life!
Skeeter the scooter is doing great! We took a small ride the other night when it cooled off. I’m walking and have that when I’m worn out or just…need it. I’m blessed beyond measure! I’m praying many blessings for you ~ take care, my friend! 🤗💕🥰❤️☀️💚 🐬 🐳 🛵 🦓 🦢 🥾 ☺️🎵

      3. Yay, his adventure has started. He will have much to tell as it goes on by Karla. And yes, heaven is….oh, it just is heavenly my friend. The feeling of it I just can’t put into words. I didn’t ‘see’ anything, but I sure ‘felt’ it 🤗🥰🤣😎🐬
Glad to hear you are still walking ok then kind lady, and skeeter the skooter is just for those occasional hot evenings to go sit in the shade somewhere and enjoy 🤗❤️
Prayers gratefully received kind lady, and returned in kind. May the love and light of His world ever be with you. Take care 🤗🥰😂😎🛵🥾🐾🦓🎶🦢🐬🐳❤️🙏

  3. Lovely post, Karla…Words…
Prayers for your son. I love you beautiful lady! Always praying for you 🙏🏻🥰☕️❤️ Will be in touch!

    1. Thank you, precious Pam. I appreciate your prayers and friendship! I love you so much! I’m praying for all of you as well. Be blessed and safe! 🤗💛💚❤️💙🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    1. Aww, Cindy! How precious!
      This is so beautiful!
I wanted to write you a poem. My brain’s bandwidth is very limited tonight.
I love and appreciate you! Bells of hope are ringing! I love that! ♥️💕❤️🥰🤗

    1. Thank you, Dwight! I’m so happy you enjoyed them (they will be too!).
My website is always a work in progress it seems! lol, 😂 yes, I’m beginning from “scratch” on my webpage widgets. I’m using Yoast suggestions for posts and pages ~ taking “free” tutorials which cost upfront lol. I keep learning!
If only I could figure out how a few friends aren’t able to comment on my site? I have that difficulty on a few. WP is tricky at times! I enjoy it though! God bless you, dear friend. I appreciate you!

So beautiful… Congratulations Dear Sister Karla. God’s light truly pierces the heart and fills every empty space with His love.
What a powerful reminder of His presence. 🙏

  6. Hope is the quiet bridge between our broken moments and God’s eternal promise. Reading these poems feels like hearing faith sing softly through words, carrying us from shadows into light. Thank you for reminding us that even the smallest verse can carry the greatest hope—lifting hearts more than we ever imagine.
