Love and Ashes

❤️

A season of love and sacrifice—40 days to 365 days—love still wins.

For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever who those who fear him…”—Psalms 103:16-17)

All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return.”—Ecclesiastes 3:20

Jesus said to him,”I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”—John 14:6

I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” —Job 42:5-6

Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us. So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.”—1 Corinthians 5:7-8

We love and are loved every single day of our lives. Kudos to you for reaching out to your readers on this special day that celebrates love.

We’ve only met virtually Karla, but I consider you a friend and love you as a friend.

From my ❤️ to yours, I wish you a happy day….this includes sweet Miss Finley, of course, my furry friend!

    1. Ginger, thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ and tip of my toes.
I feel as you—in many ways, this virtual community of writers, readers, and “open books” has opened up the “book of my life” in ways that other places could not.
I feel accepted and my story is welcomed.
I love your life and story—and I love you, too.
      Finn does too!
She’s sleeping right now, but I know she does.
Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️ We appreciate your love, prayers, and support so much.

    1. Aw, John. I love this! I’ll keep this image in my head as I continue on. Treatments, scans, and appts are set-busy day, busy schedule ~lots of love going on and I expect healing. Let’s keep each other refreshed as we lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus! Thank you so much, my friend. 🩵

    1. Thank you, precious C!! Happy Valentine’s Day! Your writing made my morning before I left. It gave me a great “posture” to start my day. I feel your love and I hope you feel mine too! 🤗🥰🙏🏻❤️

  2. Beautiful scriptures that you selected to share. The graphic is perfect for Valentine’s Day. I hope your day was amazing, just like you! Love to you, my sweet friend❤️🩷♥️🙏🏻🎶

    1. Precious Pam, thank you so much. I knew you’d appreciate the scriptures! And thank you for your kind words. It was such a beautiful day. I was able to attend a party with my niece and precious parents. I can imagine the day you all had! I hope you’re receiving the amazing spring-like weather (winter will visit again this weekend when I go and visit my youngest son and family). I love you all very much! 💛🙏🎶💕💐

      1. It is a beautiful day and we are soaking up the sunshine and milder temperatures. Enjoy the time with your youngest and family. That is exciting! Love and prayers, always ❤️🙏🏻🎶🩷

  3. That gift of love, from His heart to us, is indeed shared from within kind lady. And this journey will in each step open it further and further for us. Lovely words, lovely post, and lovingly told. Happy Valentine’s Day Karla, may that love ever be who we are. Thank you for sharing His love 😀❤️🙏

    1. Mark, I appreciate you and your words so much. They “ooze” of love always. The featured verses today are, “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 —I thought about the times I’m “stinky”, lol (a “smelly” post came to mind ;-). I think love is the best way to be the best aroma for HIM! Your aroma and spirit are so pleasing to HIM and I know all of us who get to call you friend! Thank you for sharing his love as well, dear friend. Love and prayers from Finley and I! 💕🌈☕️🙏🍫 (and chocolate :-))

      1. Great verses Karla, and your and Finn’s love always accepted my friend, and never stinky 🤣 Oh, and most certainly an acceptance of the beauty of His love too kind lady. Ok, and the chocolate 🤗🥰🤣❤️🙏

      1. Aww, yay! It was a beautiful and full day. A party with my precious parents and niece. “Seeing” my little grands and “snapping” with them and talking with one. To be able to get out and about. To LIVE. Even if I end up having a few “rough” hours, I count it all as a blessing, C. To just be here is a blessing. I can’t stop having gratitude for it. Your lovely dinner sounds perfect! Happy Thursday, sweet friend. Much love!! 💕❤️

  5. A beautiful and timely post. Thank you for this gift! Besides the inspiring and comforting words you always write, I really appreciate the care you take with your graphics. They really add an extra dimension of purpose to the words you “speak.”

    1. Russell, that is so kind and thoughtful! I spend a lot of time creating them–so that means so much to me! I hope you both are doing well, my friend. It’s always good to “see” you and read your uplifting responses. I saw where you had posted, too. I’m scrambling trying to balance everything–life, reading, writing, and doing the things I love. My reserve is low, but I’m winning!

  6. I always seem to be catching up to your posts, but these passages from Scripture can be read at anytime in the year. Blessings Karla for sharing the Word with a faithful witness.

    1. How kind and thoughtful, Richard. I’m so happy to have you as a fellow faithful friend! I’m sorry I’m late on my response! I hope to be catching up with everyone soon. God bless you and thank you for your prayers and support…always!

Feel free to contribute! Your faithful feedback is appreciated!
