Thankful Thoughts

Recently, I watched a documentary about all the STUFF humans waste- oceans filled with trash, tons of technology, and mountains of discarded debris. Marketing can manage our moods! God, I don’t need any more stuff. I’m stuffed with all that I NEED. Your table is long, Lord. It accepts us ALL. Pull up a chair, friends. Let’s talk about the stuff that matters!

Happy Thanksgiving, family and friends. Do you know how loved you are and how thankful I am for you?💛🍁

Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me! 🎶

May your day be STUFFED with blessings, peace, and LOVE. 💛

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! I’m so thankful for you. I spy a heart-shaped leaf in your photo! Is that you singing? What a talent to top the pile of talents you have. God is good!

    1. You know I thought of you when I saw this heart 💚🍁 I’m thankful for you, my friend. Yes, that’s me doing a sit down spontaneous praise! With a few tears.🥹💛💚 God is good!

  2. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me! Your beautiful voice singing this song I haven’t heard in years just warmed my heart, sweet friend! “God, I don’t need any more stuff. I’m stuffed with all that I NEED.” Your photos are stunning as fall fades away!

The Lord is good and faithful, my dear friend! I love you and wish you a blessed day of Thanksgiving! 🧡🙏🏻🧡

    1. Pam, you’re precious, thank you.💛🥹The other night, when I couldn’t sleep, I watched The Gaither’s Thanksgiving on YouTube. Jeff and Sherri Easter recorded this, and I know others have, …I’ve been singing it since.
I’m so thankful for you, Butch, and your family. I love you and wish you all a wonderful day. Please give your Daddy hugs too. 💛🍁🙏🏻 🎶

  3. Happy Thanksgiving (every) Day to you Ms. Hale! And to your little dog, too! “Waste not, want not,” the old saying goes. In the world we have flipped this around – “Waste much, want more.” It is sad to see this, and sad to see my part in it. I am praying for greater deliverance from worldly ways.

May our Lord bless you richly with the clear sense of His presence in you, today and every day. May He bless your day with family, friends, and even strangers, today and every day.

All our best to you and the Finn!

    1. Tim! Rascal! Thank you 😊

It’s always so wonderful to read your responses and connect, dear friend.
I can be better on my part too (I’m not wasting time though! Mostly lol).

I remember moving out of my RV and stressing about how much stuff I needed for a house. Food? I think “small” because I can live on little while others have none? We live in a western civilization of excess. And some places and people have empty 🥹

God continues to bless me, Tim. To share all the stories could be a book. It always amazes me.

      In moments where I’m
In the water, tossed about or drifting from the shore, I shift my focus quickly back on my lifeguard and make it back!

How is work? Travel? Experienced? I can’t wait to hear the adventures dripping with divine direction!

I’ll have to email so we can catch up, dear friend. Finn and I wish you and Rascal the best too! I’m grateful for you!

  4. God has blessed me richly with your friendship and encouragement. I thank Him for you. Your courage is admirable. Your faith is amazing. Your God is even greater than all the trials you face each day. May He continue to give you more time to share His grace and love with others. I love you dear Karla. Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. I’m so grateful for you. I thank God for you too, Mama K. Your wisdom, encouragement, and love continue to lift and strengthen me. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful gift wrapped in words. I pray you and Paul had a wonderful day. May God continue to bless you ~and comfort you through the tough days.🙏🏻💛💚♥️ I love you ❤️

      1. We did have a lovely day together. Though it was quiet at our house, we were blessed with a good meal, lots of time to rest and each other. Thank you Jesus for another day!

  5. I absolutely believe (maybe wrongly but I don’t care) that kindness can save the world and is why it isn’t worse than it is. Happy Thanksgiving, Karla and Finn the Brave and Good from Bear, Teddy and me🐩❤️🐾🐾

    1. MAK, I was just visiting your place. I agree with you 💯! It shifts, shields, and shapes so much! But to whom am I sharing?…you know! ❤️
Finn and I love you 3 so much. Give Bear and Teddy extra belly rubs and hugs from us (Finn is sacked out~which makes her look about 3lbs?-she had….turkey and lots of play time with family). 🐾💛🐾🐾❤️♥️🦃 🐕 🐩

      1. Teddy and I had a peaceful walk in total silence. ONE other person out there — a runner. It was very very lovely. On the way out I noticed half a dozen elk grazing in a field of Angus cattle. Teddy and Bear are asleep and I’m headed that way. I’m happy you had a peaceful Thanksgiving and that Finn got turkey!!!! 🐩❤️

      2. Thank you! How beautiful. My kind of day! Yay for you two~ and elk and Angus. Sleep tight~ all of you~ we’re right behind you! ♥️❤️🐾🐾🐾

  6. OMG, is this you singing? This is so very beautiful. So full of heart and completely on pitch. It gave me goosebumps, Karla.

Yes, change is the only constant we have in life since change is through challenges keep us constantly developint… quite a lot of Cs.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving from over the big pond, Karla 💖

    1. Erika, we are developing in so many ways aren’t we, sister? You know!

Thank you dear friend for your sweet words. 🥹🎶Tonight at my sweet parents, as my Mom played it, my Dad sang along and harmonized. We grew up singing around the piano. You should hear my twin! She’s amazing! I want to record her and sing with her. For years I didn’t want to sing. Only to kids or at school. Songs hit my heart ♥️. I feel life should always have background music 🥰 except when I’m in the woods~ 😊that’s different “music”. ☺️

Change and I are good companions. We seem to have a working relationship. I learn a lot!!

I hope you feel my love and hugs across the ocean. Happy Thanksgiving dear Erika.♥️🎶💚

      1. Life’s ways are amazing and I am happy you found your was to music. Your voice and the way you sing go straight to the heart. Please, keep it up, dear friend!

Yes, I can feel your hugs clearly and thank you from my heart. Sending you huge hugs and lots of love back, my dear friend 🤗💖💖

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Finn , family and friends Karla. And as you so beautifully sang, to thank the Lord for those blessings on us all.

And I too saw a documentary of those huge islands of plastic in the middle of the ocean, rubbish looked at with…out of sight, out of mind. It will come back to bite us, I have no doubt. And the worse this world gets I think He will remove this beauty as it is not deserved in any way.

But…if you keep singing like that, it will give Him pause because He can still feel the love in this world. Keep it up Karla, you might save us truly, even if your the last note upon it. If we could all do that it may indeed be a powerful blessing 🤗❤️

I hope all is well from your last batch of tests. I think you will keep it at bay from that delightful singing, that is a healing all its own 🤗❤️🙏🕊️

Have a great day, many hugs from over here, and enjoy the time with family 🤗🥰🐾🦓🎶🕊️❤️🙏

    1. Mark, would you like to be in the band? Play in the choir? Let’s sing!

You’re a treasure, dear friend. Your words motivate me! You really need to coach, Mark {as if counseling and everything else you do isn’t enough!}.

I hope the documentary helps this crisis by impacting the producers and consumers! It won’t leave my mind~and I want it to stay and creep into my decision making process habitually! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Music is healing~ and so is love and happiness. Also, a positive mindset. Oh, and a tiny bit of chocolate. You possess this all dear friend! Finn and I send our love and blessings! Hugs across the huge pond (with no plastic please 🥹)! 💛♥️💚🥰🙏🏻🙏🏻 God bless you!!

      1. Haha, now me in a band, wouldn’t that be something Karla 🤣 I have a deep…um…noise 😂 I think I could do backup for the ‘Mah Nà Mah Nà‘ song off Sesame Street 🤗🤣

But God gave me something else, a gift to speak to hearts. And yes, exactly like your delightful voice kind lady. Just a slightly different frequency so people can hear His love within them. It is so amazing that we all on this earth can touch that love in so many different ways…but still all leading to His unconditional love within us 🤗❤️🙏

And you are right my friend, that film leaves a scar on our hearts. To see what we are doing begs us to really listen to what we do and not look the other way. I do think it should be shown in schools, our new generation needs to see what has been done, and what can be done to go past this. There is no need for it, it is only built on money.

And also yes, music touches us somewhere very profoundly, and does indeed heal in so many ways. Your song to the Lord spoke it loud and clear. Thank you for sharing it 🤗❤️

Chocolate, I think He created it for us all Karla. Something so that we can see a twinkle in each others eyes as we consume it 🤣 I think it should be served in all peace talks around the world, family gatherings, and puppy dog patting sessions. It would change us all forever 🤗🙏

Much love, hugs and blessings coming across the big blue over to you, Finn and family (definitely with no plastic either 😂). And just a side note, your last image with Finn above…something quite profound has shifted, it’s almost you…but not you. And the glow and light in your eyes. Have you been speaking with the Lord again. It must be that song. Many blessings to you and your path Karla, it is indeed creating something wonderful 🤗❤️🙏

      2. Mark, your words are a song! I’m singing along. Even when I giggle at some of your statements. Jinkies! YES to chocolate being served at all those gatherings. I’ve always thought that babies, chocolate, and puppies can soften ANYTHING! Right?

Your wisdom makes your wit even more witty! Yet, I also know the serious depth of the love talks about our Creator–and his constant pursuing of our souls and hearts so we don’t consume commercially, but out of compassion for others. Yes, we all have needs. But you know of that which I speak!

My friend Rhonda said the pic didn’t look like me. It was ….yesterday morning. My hair a bit different, no glasses, a camera…I see myself and I don’t see who I used to be. But in another pic, I throw on my ballhat and see me 10 years ago? Sometimes I see my mom and dad, my sons, but mostly….I see myself through God’s eyes now.
To think that Jesus calls us his BELOVED. It blows me away. Perhaps I finally feel that because I’m 100 percent HIS. It’s surreal I’m…HERE!
It shows through the heart. The best place there is!
You have that heart too, my friend. Many many blessings to you.🙏🙏💞🥰

      3. Yes, you are right. Babies, chocolate and puppies, they will ‘touch’ anything I think because they all soften and open us to that love 🤗❤️

And yes, I do know of what you speak, something awaiting us all…to see through our hearts with no more blocking our way. Something that has forever been there, we just needed a little ‘light’ polishing to see its truth.

And what you just said about your picture made Spirit nudge me to what you said…’I see myself through God’s eyes now’…once we touch that love inside us we will be truly open and accepting in that love, no longer blocking those many things that originally taught us. Others see that love within us, no longer distorted by what went before.

And that ‘let go’ into His love, to finally understand that all along has been a guidance to it, shown so much, so beautifully, so profoundly…of which your path has lit so well my friend. And as we open, so does that light of His love.

Thank you for sharing that Karla, the words are a gift. And for that, many blessings to you also dear lady 🤗❤️🙏

    1. Cindy, such precious words of gratitude! I’m so grateful for those~and YOU too! And Henry of course. Finn and I send our love and wish many blessings as you continue spreading so much love and goodness! ♥️💚💛🙏🏻🙏🏻🐾🐾

  8. I love how you said we should encourage one another face to face, and not just digitally. Sending someone a text, email, or meme is not the same as giving them a hug and telling them you care. Also, the humanKIND is something we can always use more of.
    Happy Thanksgiving, Karla! God Bless.

    1. Thank you, David 🙏🏻 it is so easy to send a meme, text,…isn’t it?

I have a dear friend who lost her husband recently. I don’t want to just send a text~ I want to go to her and hug her as much as I can. It’s so hard when miles and situations separate; but with effort it can be done.

God bless you, my friend. I hope you’re enjoying your well-deserved break. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

  9. love this post and its photos esp the message about kindness; I remember the Apostle Paul saying in Philippians 4: ‘let your gentleness be evident to all’ ; Happy Thanksgiving, Karla: we don’t celebrate it down under —

    1. Happy Thanksgiving, dear friend. I’m thankful for you, John. Amen to Paul’s words. Although you don’t have this holiday, I know that you are a thankful person each day! I’m grateful for you!
      🥰🙏🏻

      1. it’s funny, Karla, I’ve just finished writing that passage in my notebook to remind me when I’m writing that the Lord is near. I’m glad you’re in a happy place 🙂 funny how some passages resonate 🙂

  10. Hope you had a very sweet Thanksgiving Day Karla. Love the photos. It looks like a great place to walk.

May you be blessed with health and wholeness in all ways.

    love to you, katelon.

    1. Hello, Katelon. It was a sweet day with family. I was sad my son and grandkids couldn’t be there. I’m so happy for them and their families are spread out. They have all traveled so much and I’m so blessed. It’s still a joy to know they’re well and having their own traditions~ I remember the days of splitting between families and schedules.
My sweet parents were precious. Sisters, my niece, nephew, and brother-in-law all made it special.

To celebrate another year brings tears to my eyes. I’m so grateful.

May YOU be blessed in every way. I pray your day has been filled with goodness and peace. Much love, my friend. I appreciate you,♥️

      1. I’m so glad you were able to enjoy the day with family..and yes, another year of living.

My day started out with trauma but it ended more gently. So I begin another day of working to free this planet and restore the light.

Enjoy this holiday season and be well friend. ❤️

      2. I’m sorry to hear about the trauma, Katelon. And very impressed, inspired, and happy to hear how you continuously strive in freedom and light!
Stay well, too. Thank you for all you do. Love, Karla🩷❣️

Amen 🙏🤗 – Beautiful Post- Beautiful Prayer – Beautiful Pictures – and What a Beautiful Worship Song of Thanks.

Hope you had a Wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving my Dear Sister.

May the Lord Continue to Bless You, today and always.

    1. Thank you, brother!

I’m so happy you loved this post of praise and gratitude! You live that way!! It was a blessed day, Willie. I pray yours was too, dear friend.

God bless you and keep you~ May his face shine upon you and be gracious to you! 🎶💚🙏🏻

  12. Karla Happy Thanksgiving – today and every tomorrow! We do need that personal touch and interaction! I wish we could meet in person – but his note will have to do! Much love from us to you and yours! (Mochi got a few little tastes of turkey and was very happy!) 🙏🏻🙏🏻🦃🦃🐾🐾💕💕

    1. Thank you, Val and Mochi! I’m celebrating gratitude every day with you!
I’d love to hug in person. I talked to Gary and Matt about having a midwest Blog Get-Together. I STILL see us ALL sitting at one big blog table. I’ll take these notes for now, too.
Love and blessings from Finn and me (I’m so happy Mochi had turkey, too! Finn loved it). 💞🥰🐾🐾🐾🩷🩷🙏🙏

  13. “to be HumanKIND”… YES! Beautiful thoughts and love the photo of you and Finn, my friend. <3 <3 Would love to walk in those woods with you and chat. 🙂 I hope you had a wondeful Thanksgiving! Love and hugs!!

    1. Thank you, sweet C! YOU are such a KIND, thoughtful, and fun sister. I’d love for us to have a walk. I still picture us meeting up at the train in MD one day. Until we get our walk, let’s keep taking care of our hearts and bodies. How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was wonderful. I missed my sons and families–yet, we all communicate and I’m so happy that they have traditions. That’s the way life keeps moving forward. I’m so thrilled to be doing life.
Please keep taking care! I love you, dear C! ❣️🎶💛🥰🙏🙏🙏💞💞

  14. Amen! Too much stuff!! Lovely singing! Is that you?

My heart was full, yesterday, as I considered the blessings. Still is, this morning. So thankful!

    1. Hello, Jeff! Thank you, my friend, for stopping by and sharing such lovely comments and praise! Yes, that is me.
My heart was full like yours! And I’m so happy that our hearts are STILL full of of joy because of the blessings! I appreciate you so much!

  15. Happy belated Thanksgiving! And you’re right, kindness is what makes the hard stuff so much easier to bear. I also believe it is how we are called to treat each other. Thank you for this lovely post!

  16. I was able to get to a family Thanksgiving alone this year. The 3 of us later. Sometimes, even when there is so much to be thankful for (and there is), it’s hidden amongst a lot of life’s baggage, which will all be cleaned up someday. Thankful for that as well.

    1. Happy Sunday, dear friend. Your words always hit my heart. I understand them. You’ve all been in my heart and prayers. I was thinking of the deer season, tucked in among health, family, and so much more. Through each season, we can be thankful all will be cleaned up, as you say so perfectly. God bless you, Gary. All of you. I’m so thankful for you.🙏🏻

  17. I wanted to finally put out another blog, take some winter pictures and decide if I should keep hunting with bow or black powder (no meat in freezer yet)….there are seasons for those starting yesterday. Sort of a lull between storms here and I’m playing for a nieces wedding this week. I’m thankful for you as well…the girls send greetings. Keep on keeping on. Tis the season of hope amidst life’s baggage.

    1. Give them hugs, Gary! I can’t wait to see your winter pics. Yesterday, I had an amazing experience observing a Red-tailed Hawk and his supper. I have the pictures to share eventually.
I’ll look forward to what you decide on hunting with~bow or powder. I just looked up the seasons as I was wondering. Last night I went down a rabbit hole of researching bird migration seasons when I had difficulty distinguishing between a Canadian goose and/or a cackling I observed yesterday. The birds were singing so beautifully. It was unseasonably cold and perfect for hiking and praising. You all deserve a lull (and no storms!). I’ll say a prayer for the wedding, too. How wonderful. I’ll keep the faith like all of you do!🙏🏻💚

  18. You’re words and song are so beautiful and uplifting, dear Karla! Love everything about this post. Your grateful heart is full of wisdom. I don’t want more stuff either.. Awwww love you and Finn in your matching sweaters. I Love you, dear one❣️

What a beautiful article and song! I’m so grateful this holiday season, and especially for your humanKINDNESS. 🙏🏻🙌🏻🤗

    1. Aw, it’s so good to see you “here” and also, through your encouragement in my day to day, week by week. I’m happy you enjoyed this, dear CP. You’re a treasure! You know the depth and understanding of my gratitude! Thank you!🙏🏻🤗🙏🏻🙌🏻

  20. Blessings Karla for stuffing me with the goodness of this post. Always grateful for every tidbit you share from your faithful witness. God understands where to send us to find nourishment from His Word. God’s peace my dear friend.

    1. Thank you, dear Richard. I appreciate your support, prayers, and blessings. Your words are always filled with wisdom and faith, too! God’s peace to you, too. I’ll be gone several days again, so thank you for your patience with me visiting your blog! May you both be well!

Feel free to contribute! Your faithful feedback is appreciated!
