Growth is Optional

Is life trying to kick you around? Do you feel the waves of change blowing? Are you irritable? Do you worry too much? Are the little things gaining ground on your grit? Yesterday was layer after layer of challenges. We all have them. But in my Red Sea moment, as the water seemed as if it was going to cave down, I stood still. The peace flooded. I took a deep breath-placed it in perspective-stopped.

Can we do ourselves a favor? Let’s raise the expectations for ourselves instead of others. Let’s just love them where they are; and where they aren’t. Find a way to let go of worry. And if you can’t, call me. Have I told you all how thankful I am for YOU?

  1. Well said Karla, well said. We only ever judge others by ourselves. Fix our love first and we begin to give out a more perfect love…unconditional appreciates whatever it finds and doesn’t expect anything 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Very well said thank you for the good talks yesterday and for always being my best friend. Love always and forever J. 💚♥️❤️🙏

      1. Laura, that means so much to me. For many reasons I appreciate your understanding of the tones! Thank you so much! 💚❤️💛🦋

  3. Beautifully said and after all, we can only ever change ourselves anyway so that is where all our energy should be focused and not on the perceived shortcomings of others.

      1. Oh the words just really haven’t been there Karla – I used to think writing was something out of control and then I thought it was a matter of discipline but now I think it is a matter of energy and attention – mine have been on other things. Hopefully I can marry all of it together consistently one day 😊 lovely to hear from you x

  4. Would God refuse to work in other’s lives just as He works in ours? Do we not all belong to Him?
He has not put us in charge of redeeming them. Only He can heal their deepest wounds. Our only job is to love, to forgive, and to pray for others. Let’s include ourselves in this too…

    1. Beautiful words, Dawn 🤍 we are only to love them indeed. This morning someone very dear to me shared that when are able to forgive ourselves and truly hear the “nudges” he gives us to help others, it’s then we are truly free. As another friend would often say, “Jesus doesn’t need our help!” He requires two very important things to prove our love to him. Loving him is easier than loving others at time. But oh, the freedom when we allow his love to do the work!

  5. “Give it to God” – advice that will never cease to be true and most beneficial. Thank you for the simple kindness and hope weaved into your words. 🧡
