“Goodnight stars,
Goodnight air,
Goodnight noises, everywhere.” (Margaret Wise Brown, “Goodnight Moon”)
“I see the moon and the moon sees me. God bless the moon and God bless me.” (Do you remember that one?)
For several nights, sleep has searched hard to find me. The moon is becoming more super. Just as God’s love. Do you feel it? To think, we all share the same moon~Goodnight noises, everywhere.

Have faith 💛

Yes! I saw that moon! It makes us all feel just a bit closer, doesn’t it? Great photo! I couldn’t figure out how to get a good one with my phone.
And to think it will be even MORE super tonight! I watched a YouTube video on capturing it. I have an iPhone 14–it’s not the Pro. I clicked the night setting OFF. Focused directly on the moon and lowered exposure a bit. I practiced with about 15 different “snaps”. These are the days I wish I had a telescope! Many blessings, Mama! 💛🙏
I’m almost giddy about it. You may remember my son, my last child at home, moved out at the beginning of July. The night before, we went for a drive and the moon was full and absolutely divine! The next cycle, when the moon was full, it reminded me of that special time with him, and warmed my empty nest heart <3. I texted him to look out at it and know I was praying for him. As we speak, he is on his way back, to pick up the rest of his things, but he will spend a few days home. And that moon – it will welcome him and allow us to spend more special moments under it tonight. I feel so blessed by God's creation of that full moon!
Mama, my heart feels this so much. I have that empty nest heart…STILL. After many years, those memories still warm me. I’m thinking about you and the drive with your son and the moon. I’m hugging you in those memories! I love it…so precious. 💛
Thanks. I sure appreciate you!
Hey, did you know comments say “closed” on this post? I can still converse with you through the notification bell on wordpress, but the comments on your post show as blank… ? Just thought I’d mention it in case you don’t want it to be that way.
Mama, thank you so much! I appreciate you! No, I did not know that! So strange…hmmm. I’ll have to take a look into that. I started and published on my phone (gasp! I never thought I’d do that) and then updated on my PC. Thank you, Mama! ❤️🤗💕
I was gazing on the beautiful full moon last night, too! God’s creation is amazing!
Amen, Cindy! 💛
Beautiful!
Sorry about your sleep issues. No fun.
Thank you, Russell! I just saved your post to read in a bit! I appreciate your support so much! We will have to see the moon TONIGHT! Wow, God’s miracles are everywhere!
That is a beautiful photo! And thank you for sharing the photo tip!
Thank you, Sheryl! I must give credit to the gentleman on YouTube for the tip–and my history is off. I will try and find him. But thanks to his tip, I had a better understanding; although my phone is not a pro max or anything! It’s difficult to capture the real beauty, isn’t it? But we all understand! Thank you for your kindness! 💛
The moon was beautiful last night! I love your photos and feel for you re: sleeplessness. Let us hope we both sleep better tonight!
Yes, Dale,…I thought of you when I wrote this (knowing I would be publishing this). My dear friend/sister, Kim, is the same way. We would be “up” at night at the same time. Mine is a mixture of things. If I get 3-4 hours of sleep I feel I’m a champion, lol. And then it hits at the worst times in the afternoon (particularly, today, is my ZOOM day with my cancer friends across the country–no telling how I’ll function, tee hee). I’ll pray we sleep well SOON! Thank you for stopping by, Dale!
I am thrilled when I get 3-4 in a row. Beyond thrilled when I actually fall back asleep after!
I’m sure you’ll be fine – sends awake wishes to KL 🙂 – Especially for such important and supportive zoom calls 🙂
Yes, yes, and yes, Dale! Thank you!! 💛🤗
💞
Read Goodnight Moon to both our daughters and our granddaughter…..endlessly!
Great shots of the moon Karla.
Not surprised you’re finding it hard to sleep. Your brain has to be churning a mile a minute with all the information you’re trying to process. Impossible not to think about what’s going on. Hopefully that will all calm down quickly.
Praying you get a good night’s sleep every night, and sweet Miss Finn too! Ask her what her secret is. Dogs are able to sleep through anything….except maybe thunder!
Stay tough.

I asked Finn and she said, “Because I’m by your side.” Aww. That Finn! It’s so interesting, Ginger. My thoughts are always so random, not worrying about the surgery or cancer,…are you ready? “Boy, I sure wish I could take the grandkids to the nearby WWII Airshow getting ready to begin today.” “I can’t wait to go on vacation and see them.” “Hmm, how long would it take me to do the tour of all the places Laura Ingalls Wilder lived?” “Where’s somewhere I haven’t been in my hometown?” “I better save my money between now and Christmas!” “I better research the significant battles in WWII that led to the surrender of the German Third Reich.” “What if I wrote a fiction based on Wilson’s Creek Battle near me?”. I have some weird thoughts, Ginger because I’m just weird. But what I love about me is that I can calm my thoughts quite quickly now. It’s taken years of practice. Within about 10 minutes of deep breathing, “shutting” off my brain, I can be in the present. The hardest part is when I’ve missed being in nature. My “kids” and grandkids are a constant flow in my heart and mind. That will never leave so I really enjoy being a learner and dreamer. Goodnight Moon is such a classic. And of course, I started researching Margaret Wise Brown even more. Aren’t children, books, and the moon just the best? 💛💕Just like you, Ginger! I’ll hang in there, my friend. Finn is sleeping right now as I type this. Tee hee. 🐾💕
Karla, if I had all those thoughts in my head, my feeble old brain would just explode! Half your battle against cancer will be won by your amazing gift to think and plan for your future. And a future you will have my friend. You and sweet Miss Finn have a lot of adventures to enjoy together.
Of course Finn is sleeping! She’s trying to catch up on the sleep YOU lost. Who’s a good girl?!
Keep thinking. Keep planning. Keep dreaming. Keep praying. Keep the faith. And keep on keeping on.
Time for you to be quiet now. Wouldn’t want to disturb the little princesses beauty sleep! 🤗

Yes, Ginger! My thoughts are always about a book I’m reading or something I want to learn, or a movie I saw. It’s funny. My home is very quiet. My mornings are quiet and I love them so much. Part of my dreaming is due to praying pain away. It’s so real. I’m far enough out of treatment, and block that was done, that is making the pain “sneak” back in. I try to not “overdo” it; yet not, “underdo” too. Here, in this space, I can dream with you all. Finn knows she can rest in me like I rest in God. Seriously, the sweetest thing. I think when I get closer to October 31st my mind will try and shift to the surgery. It’s human. The “big plan” of me having so much time has opened my heart to dreams that I thought would never happen. Shame on me! My faith kept me going day to day. But my faith in planning stopped as I focused on the very present. Life is such a beautiful balance, isn’t it, Ginger? You are so wise and have lived all these experiences to know and share. Aww, my heart is so peaceful. Placid is a beautiful thing to feel, Ginger. I’ll keep on keeping on. Finn and I send our love. Zzzzzzz💛💕🤗🐾
God’s creation has many splendors we can behold.
I enjoyed seeing the moon as I drove home from class last night, but was tired and went inside as soon as I got home.
How are you today little sister?
Matt, I can imagine after such a long day of teaching how tired you were. Today, even though pain and sleepless nights have found me, I’m still walking in joy. I choose it. I just don’t want the alternative! I have much to “fight” for–so I’ll let God do all of that and I’ll just rest in that promise. How are you? Are you finding strength in him too?
Yes Jesus gives strength each day. I am thankful for that, I rejoice you are walking in joy
I’m glad to hear this, Matt! And thank you so much!! 💛
What a stunning photograph, Karla!
I hope you get some good sleep soon.
Thank you so much, Lesley! I hope you are well, my friend! I have peace–you’d think they would be the best sleep medicine! I typically “drop” after several days of no sleep. Like a little child or puppy? Many blessings!
God bless, Karla.
Thank you. God bless you too, Lesley!
Beautiful moon, and tonight’s moon is a “blue moon”. I pray sleep finds you tonight! Love and prayers always!💛🙏🏻
Thank you, Pam! I can’t wait to see tonight’s too. I’m sure I’ll be up, lol. But hopefully will sleep too–the prayers are so appreciated! Much love and prayer for you all! ❤️🙏
“Goodnight Moon” was a book at my Aunt Martha’s house, not mine. She got it so I wouldn’t be afraid to spend the night with her when I was a little kid. 🌕
That’s a precious memory, MAK. I just love the book so much and the memories it “holds”.❤️🙏🤗
Yep, same moon. It’s amazing. Some day in eternity we will laugh at our lack of time-distance concepts here.
I thought I didn’t sleep all night last night until the alarm woke me up. frazzled though so some of it was true. A fishing morning with friends so we have fresh boneless fillets in the frig.
We will laugh indeed, Gary! We just don’t get it, lol. A good night and fillets in the frig. God is good, Gary! I’m getting ready to have ZOOM with my cancer friends, but I will try and download your song while I’m on my PC today. Many blessings, my friend.
Your photos have a spirituality to them that is uncommon and intangible.
Thank you, Pam. I’ve never been told that before-how thoughtful and special! I’ll not forget that. I really do enjoy seeing things in a spiritual way. ❤️🤗
eerie and spiritual; I feel it, Karla —
Thank you, John! I know you can feel it! Take care my friend. 🙏🏻💛
I used to sing that to my babies! ❤️🌙
I had this feeling you did! 🎶💕 🌝
Great moon photo! Moon photos are hard and mine never seem to turn out very well. I love the clouds in your photo. Very cool 😎
Thank you, my friend! I just went outside and took another one for the morning! I had read to take off “night” mode. Click on the moon for focus (my iPhone focus to greatest zoom—5). Lower exposure a tad. I had to play with it. I wish it would get the detail of the moon. But I can’t complain since it’s just a cell phone. Thank you, again! This morning’s photo appears to have a light, similar to a cross, surrounding it. It’s very cool! Hope you are all well! Is school gearing up again?
Beautiful photos and message. 💞
Thank you, sweet friend. I hope you are well! Dancing and bringing sunshine wherever you go, I’m sure! Love, Karla 💛💛🙏🤗
A treat! 🥰 I am well, thank you for your affirming and beautiful kindness. Your light shines bright! 💖
I’m standing in light with you, sweet lady! ❤️💕💛
🙏🏻🌞 💖
Yes, yes, yes!!! Do you know I recite Goodnight Moon every day in my classroom before chapter reading?
Oh, Jennie! I think I remember that now! That’s so awesome. You’re the bee’s knees!💛🫶🏻
😍
The full moon often messes my sleep up. But I think that’s partly to do with the moon sending our big cat mad. I love to look up at the moon when I’m struggling and remind myself just how blessed we are. Sending you so many hugs ❤️❤️❤️
It’s so true, my dear friend. And to think, the moon you see is the same moon I see. We have such a big God! Much love and hugs!❤️💕💛
Its a gorgeous moon K.L. but I must say I sadly missed it. My daughter too as we realized it in he morning. Sleep was too important to both of us.
Hope you are continuing to feel well and your numbers are increasing.. hugs and love. 🥰🥰❤️❤️
I understand, Cindy! I would’ve missed it too, I’m sure, had I had my normal night of sleep. Then I was too excited about seeing it again. I appreciate you so much dear friend. I’m sitting now receiving an infusion ~surprisingly the very important ones dropped again! But there’s a plan among the awesome team around me to boost me for several weeks again! 💕💕🙏🏻💛 I love you! Please take care
I’m happy you got to see it. It’s a long time in coming for the next one. Oh thanks so much and I you. I’m seeing this one boosting you right back up to that moon and turning all of those counts of pac mans skyrocketing with your team to see you through. Beam you up Karla and i love you too my dear friend. Thanks for the wishes too.. received and appreciated 💞
Ah, Cindy…I “see” me boosting to the moon (and Pac-Man’s ~so cute). I’m beaming up. I love you!❤️🙏🏻🤗
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you, Sue. I love you! 💕
Dear Karla I’m struggling with the WP reader – it is not giving me my subscriptions in a timely manner – so forgive me if this is a little late. I rarely have difficulty finding sleep but when I do it is awful! My heart goes out to you. <3 I hope you can at least rest even if sleep evades capture!
Val, I understand! I’ve struggled with those WP issues. Particularly, here lately. Sleep is an issue at full moons, I notice, for me. And general health challenges can catch up. But if I get 4-5 straight hours I feel as a winner! I am able to rest though if I don’t sleep. You’re so sweet and kind. Thank you for being such a support and prayer warrior. Much love! 💕🙏🏻
You caught it, Karla! Super sights and energy in our shared moon, way to allow it to share its power.
I did it, dear friend! We are sharing the power! Happy Labor Day to you and your amazing family!
Looking at the moon is so calming…it eases my worries😌🤍 btw it’s a great photo of the moon and hope you have a good night’s sleep😴 take care🫂
Thank you, my friend. Yes, it’s so calming indeed. Nature provides such peace! Sleep still “hides” from me–unlike the beauty of nature. But I do my best! I pray you are well!! 💕🙏🤗
👋🙏Nice 💕 💯 blog. I hope you also follow my blog ( https://pkmundo.com/) and we rely on our posts with feedback.
A cordial greeting from the south of Spain 🇪🇦
Thank you very much 🙏🫂💯
We grow together collaborating and participating in our respective blogs 👍🙏🫂
So GRATEFUL we (do) share the same moon!🥰
❤️❤️❤️💛💛💛 me too!!
I have seasonal sleep issues. EVERY fall sleep can’t find me for a week or too. But it does pass. Slowly.
I’m sorry, Marilyn. I understand this! I returned from my trip last night and finally, for the first time in NIGHTS, I slept 6 hours! Traveling, the time change, tasks…it might take a bit to get back to “normal”. Hope you are both well!
Scrolling back in time to read this post. Blessings Karla for reminding us of the pure oxygen we receive from our Father’s goodness.
Thank you, Richard! Amen! Many blessings to you too. I love this~pure oxygen! Our Father is so good!
