They don’t stop me in my tracks anymore—I always EXPECT them. Just at the right time, when you believe,…Godsends.
Call it strange, but I talk to Christ all throughout my day! I ask him about everything! Isn’t that what living the Spirit-led life is about? Letting him lead? HE proves to me daily that miracles don’t just happen in big things. Little things matter!
The red cardinal, a yellow butterfly, and the near miss of a car hitting me? It’s bigger than ME. Godsends come in many ways. An event? Situation? Have you experienced one recently?
Enjoy these Godsend moments!
“What do you all want to eat?” cousin Steph asked. She and her mom, Aunt Connie, wanted to send Door Dash to all of us after my hospital release. Within an hour there was a knock on the door. You should’ve seen our faces when we opened up the door to….Steph and the crew. They drove HOURS to surprise us! Talk about a Godsend!
This summer my precious niece once again attended Camp Barnabas. You have to visit this camp site– https://campbarnabas.org/about/#mission-values. The campers are all SO AMAZINGLY special. Down Syndrome, visual and hearing impaired, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and many more developmental and physical challenges might keep these SPECIAL young people from attending other summer camps. Campers are introduced and walk down the center of cheering staffers! They come from all over the US to be challenged and grow in their faith. Friendships for life are formed as they serve, love, learn, and play. Check out Camp Barnabas and see why, since 1994, this amazing camp continues to make a difference in the hearts of SO MANY. What a Godsend!
Last week I took a slew of steps. Hobble, wobble, limp, and straighten. Grit can be a Godsend, too. By Sunday I mustered the willpower to drive a bit further to surprise my parents. It was NO coincidence their sweet neighbor stopped by to visit. She shared about the sad loss of her daughter to cancer 5 years. Our conversation revealed answers for questions that I’ve been asking God about. Earnest empathy. Immediate insight. They were all Godsends!
Another Godsend came in the form of a friend and her husband. It so happened they could accompany me on a long flight to celebrate my granddaughter’s birthday in Alaska. GODSEND!
Finding my keys (and train of thought 😉), the perfect parking spot, an unexpected surprise, running into a former friend, finding someone else to bless at just the right moment. Godsends! It’s not luck, coincidence, or magic. My miracle maker Lord is not in the business of doing what I want—but what I NEED. It means surrendering hourly, daily, weekly…putting down the devices and living intentional…expecting God moments at just the right time. With full intention and attention, an open heart with faith, you might start experiencing these incredible miraculous moments. Godsends.❣️

I’m glad you found the perfect parking spot. Now, don’t ever move your car. I don’t know about this talking to Jesus stuff, all day long. If he’s anything like me with my wife, he might be wishing for a moment of silence. But maybe this is why you get all those godsends. Keep eating grits and taking those steps. Before you know it, you’ll be climbing mountains.

There are times I’m not paying attention~ i have to stop (i have a Pause app on my phone for prayer, music, devotion). Intentionality has to partner with my attention right now because of fatigue. It’s easy for all us to become wrapped in our day to day routines.
I’m striving to adopt a day of no technology again (it’s very hard because that’s how I see the “kids”). Of course I’d make exceptions for my immediate family. 🙏💚
My health journey continues teaching me. Miracles happen sometimes each …hour. Things shift so swiftly. It keeps me constantly dependent on HIM because some of my daily routines are just too hard to do so I love living on that total Spiritual-led lifestyle.
May God help us in seeing him work all around us. 🙏❤️

There are indeed many Godsends Karla. Many the time we don’t even see or realize them because they are unconditional, and we can be a little ‘surprised’ in the middle of them. So much so, in the distraction of it all, I forget to say thank you 🤣
And Camp Barnabas is amazing, it has…well, everything you could think of. A total Godsend my friend, it must seem like a paradise for everyone. A lot of hearts went into that kind lady, as your story said 🥰❤️
And a lot of Christ is in you, there for all to see. That has been my journey, to reach that acceptance. Something you helped me with Karla, because my path was a little different. And a Godsend to me Karla, thank you. I think He wanted me to ‘touch’ the love first…but how did I try to do that…fully…and not be standing within Him. And I had a friend many years ago try to teach me about ‘parking spots’. She could go downtown, busiest of days, and one would be waiting for her right where she needed it. I even tried to ‘accidentally’ miss the parking spot so we had to go a long way past it. She smiled, stepped out of the car, and ran smack bang into an old friend she hadn’t seen for ten years. Tears, hugs and smiles all around. I learned your very lesson that day, and indeed a Godsend 🤣

We’re going through a rough patch right now. My husband’s stepfather died and left his mom in a financial crisis. Old wounds were reopened. And through it all – sprinkles of little miracles every hour of every day! God is so good! We’ve been praying incessantly and He’s been answering in unexpected ways. ❤️🙏👍

Karla! This is a beautiful post! Living in constant communication with God is my goal – not always achieved but I’m mindful of it. The Godsends are always perfectly timed and sometimes a surprise! I love that all the little miracles are coming together to bathe you in love!! Alaska must have been amazing! Big hugs to you and to Finn!! I fail too at that goal~ but it’s becoming more and more just who I am. It’s just Finn and I so perhaps my distractions are less as I’m not caring care of another person. With my health changing hour by hour (for all of us at times!) I stay completely dependent! For example.; I expected a peaceful night’s rest and instead, had leg cramps until 4 am this morning and couldn’t sleep! Oh my! I don’t share to complain; but I’m in complete dependency on giving it all to Christ! (I look at Finn and say, “Make a difference!” Lol). She does!
The pics are from my son camping this week so I should edit to make it clearer as I leave on Tuesday! (When the prayers are echoing again!)

What a delightfilled blog post. I love those special moments. On my walk the other day I happened to glance down at the edge of the road and happened to spot a half of a very tiny egg shell, laid by what has to be a very small bird. The egg was no bigger than the tip of my finger. Another day, another walk, a local rancher was walking a stunning paint horse on the road, introducing it to the neighborhood. I got to meet and greet Mickey the horse. There are so many ways that our days are filled with such wonders.

I really loved reading this. It reminded me of how my own faith journey has been slowly teaching me to notice God in the ordinary. For a long time, I thought faith only showed up in big miracles or answered prayers. But like you, I’ve started to see Him in the little things—the timing of a conversation, a song that stirs my heart, even just the peace that comes when I say “Jesus, rest in me.”
Your story of surprises, support, and even grit as a Godsend really spoke to me. It’s so true that these aren’t coincidences, they’re reminders that we are seen, loved, and held. I’m still learning to expect these moments instead of brushing them off, but your words encouraged me to look closer and live more open-handed to God’s timing.
