What’s New in ’22?

Will we ever heal
or stop the repeal?
Something new to battle,
minds and mouths rattle.

Our own routines
or what’s seen on a screen,
either right or wrong
with no in between.

No matter the left,
no matter the right,
politics, health, & life,
something’s sure to ignite.

The road less traveled
or in the fast lane,
we make our speeds
hard to maintain.

We push and pull
work hard to display,
trendy and popular
is this really the way?

Another new year
the same old song.
It will be better this time
what could go wrong?

We shrink to the moment
get lost in the thought,
lose sight of eternity,
forget what’s been taught.

Justice and peace,
kindness and love,
mercy and freedom,
We need help from above.

Concern for another
and a shot of care,
immunization to hate
might boost good air.

  1. We are new in 22’…all shaken, stirred and polished a little more from what went before. It cannot be any other way as this journey just wants us to find that inner love and appreciate who we really are through it. May your 22′ be a little closer to that gem Karla, even on a cloudy day you can see the sparkle that shines within. Happy New Year! 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

I have faith that 2022 will be so much brighter & softer than 2021! I’m determined to do my part to stop & think before speaking & to see the positive before the negative but not be swayed by forces other than God & His word. Just had a birthday which I spent reflecting on, there are no more do overs or I’ll do that laters today & now is the time to make a difference. i loved the quotes & the introduction to Brene Brown. I’m now a fan of hers! Thinking of you always with a smile & hug dear friend! 🙂💖🙏💕☕🍵

    1. Vicky, thank you so much for your friendship and kind words, always! Happy belated birthday 🎉! I love your determination and perseverance! Sending love and hugs dear friend. ❤️🤗☕️🙏🏻🐶

  8. Karla, well done! These verses share a view of the world through honest eyes, always guided by someone bigger than ourselves. May this year offer opportunities to share more of the Lord’s hope, peace, joy, and love.

    1. Richard, I appreciate your encouragement and kind words. I feel like my momentum is a bit down, and I’ll use my own words and my faith in the much much bigger to share that hope and love which in turn, will keep lifting me! I hope you both continue staying blessed and healthy!

      1. Karla, I can relate. Recent challenges with some of my family have replaced some of my own momentum with their needs. Better days are ahead when we let God lead.

  9. GREAT quotes to reflect upon!! I’ve copied down a few that marry well with this twisty-turned road of life I’ve been traveling, to help me in the upcoming year, too! Hugs!!

Feel free to contribute! Your faithful feedback is appreciated!
