Yes, we need to remember and honor those who survived war, those who didn’t, and their families. Their sacrifice can’t be measured.

I mentioned on another blog that a long time ago I read this, but I can’t remember who wrote this,

Those who would disrespect our flag have never been handed a folded one.

    1. They are! I think of all the ones who sacrificed for us. I’m sad when I think of saying goodbye to my sons so many years ago when they left to serve. I didn’t want to be THAT Mom (yelling, “don’t go!”). I couldn’t. I carried my sadness like a heavy purse (which I hate) for years. It wasn’t that sadness overtook me. Obviously now, I see health played a large role. I beam with pride. Through their service I gained two daughters and 3 little grandchildren. I see how the military has shaped them. I supported their decisions. I tell them I’m proud of them no matter what. I think of all before them who sacrificed. I’ll forever be grateful and I’ll never ever forget. I love you too, Val! Thank you for your love and support. 💚🙏🏻
