What a wonderful tribute to MLK! Blessings, Karla!
Thank you, Cindy! Blessings to you, too. ♥️🙏🏻
This is a beautiful tribute❤️ His words deserve to be remembered and followed.
I love you. ❤️
💛 thank you so much. I love you so much too! 🙏🏻💛💕🩵
We sure need more people walking in those footsteps today…Good tribute Karla.
Stay warm. It’s cold here so I think everyone is in cold weather (knowing it’s not true)
Thank you so much, Gary. Yes, I recently watched a docuseries about the actor portraying Jesus in a series I’ve enjoyed, “The Chosen”. He speaks of how playing that “character” has impacted his life. In the series, we are introduced to other prominent people in the business of goodness. One man lives in St. Louis and reminded me so much of Dr. King. I’m in and warm as it’s very cold still. I understand your perspective! Each day in my weather app I check out the temps of the places loved ones live and where I dream of going! Temps vary according to my bucket list, lol.
I pray miracles in the making for our loved ones, Gary🙏🏻.
The Lord has given you an uncommon faith through unkind circumstances Karla. Your prayers are of great measure for all of us. We are all sick or getting sick, my wife is hopping along in a boot (strange accident), and yet in a way we are very good. We remember you before the Lord often.
Gary, those words hit me deeply. I’m going to keep growing faith too.
And the prayers for all of you! I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s accident.
Gary, and for those reading, a dear uncle just met Jesus since you wrote to me. He was a cherished member of our family. I’ve been editing a story in which he was a central part in my childhood growing up (my Mom’s brother). I’ve never had this situation in responding here, but in this community are so many prayer warriors. Will you pray for his immediate family and siblings and the family? Faith is a wonderful gift! And loss is real and there’s sorrow.
I don’t know how I could go another hour without faith and belief in what’s waiting.
God bless you and yours, dear friend!
And thank you for the prayers. ♥️🙏🏻
We will add your uncle’s family to our prayers Karla. So Sorry. God will not waste the pain of this loss.
Thank you, Gary. It’s been a day of sharing memories, pictures, blessings, and tears. God blesses it all! 🙏🏻
Lovely tribute to MLK Karla. I liked reading his quotes and taking a moment to remember what a fine gentleman he was. His crusade for peace continues to this day, and hopefully his goal will be achieved soon. May we all know a world where EVERYONE lives in peace.
Love to you and sweet Miss Finley.

Beautifully written post Karla! Peace is what we all pray for in our world today.
Dwight, what a beautiful prayer! Thank you for your support and kindness, always!
You are welcome!
Nicely shared, Faith! ❤️
Thank you, Katherine!♥️🙏🏻💕
The sermon yesterday was about finding the love – God’s love for His creation, Christ’s love for mankind, and the love we are to extend to each other. Especially the love for others – friend, neighbor, and stranger. Seems the right message – if only it doesn’t fall on deaf ears! Love the quotes!! <3 <3 <3 (because this world needs more love)
Say it louder to the people in the back, Val! Love, love, love ♥️♥️♥️🩵🩵🩵🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you! ♥️🩵🙏🏻
I woke up this morning to these beautiful, inspiring, uplifting quotes; yes, may we find the peace in our lives and bring peace and equanimity to others; I can hear Blue Mink’s timeless ‘Melting Pot’ playing in the background; peace and love, Karla —
How beautiful, John. This is a perfect message for this day~for so many reason my friend. 🎶♥️peace and love to you!
same to you, Karla ; have a buoyant week 🙂
Thank you, John. I love that! You too!💛
I’m praying for peace on this earth. No violent. May people receive love and grace and forgiveness in Christ. Thanks to MLK.🙏
Thanks to Jesus🙏
Beautiful prayers and gratitude, Meg. Thank you for being here and sharing. ♥️🥰🙏🏻
Wonderful post, my friend! MLK had such a big heart and was so wise. <3 <3
Thank you, dear friend ❤️ Yes to all of that! ❤️🙏🏻
So many wonderful quotes by Martin Luther King to live by and to learn from.
Thank you for being here and sharing! Yes! I want to live this way…and continue learning this way. ❤️💛💚
Something we all should take to heart💖
❤️❤️❤️
Love your post! This week my midd
♥️💚 thank you, sweet Sue. I love you 💕
Thank you for sharing his wisdom this day, Karla. Blessings + Mary
Mary, it’s been a blessing. Such a day of mixed emotions~all around love and loss. And learning. I feel blessed. Many blessings and love to you. Thank you. ♥️🙏🏻
Karla, I love all of the MLK quotes. If only all of us would choose love over hate. Sin entered the world and hate entered the heart! But God sent His Son to rescue us. It is through His love and forgiveness we can truly love ❤️
I am so sorry to read of the passing of your uncle. Butch and I will pray for all of his family and your mother and you! I love you dear one ❤️🙏🏻
Pam, this morning after my meditations and devotions (around “peace” topics) I prayed over my journal when I was having my talks with Jesus~and prayed for my family (always) and you, Butch, and your Daddy in my journal.
After visiting my uncle this weekend, I reflected a lot on memories. I get lost in them. It’s like a hurricane hits my heart ❤️ I started a labor of love putting physical pics in piles for family and scattering memories to those I’m
Closest with as if…as if, if I don’t share them I’m dishonoring a legacy that’s supposed to be told! Then it hit me. Another hurricane. That’s exactly how I’m supposed to share about God. All the memories, the why’s, the proof in the pudding that I’m STILL here to tell.
Will generations keep sharing?
💛You always share the good news. The truth of love. Of forgiveness and mercy. ♥️🙏🏻❤️ it’s such a wonderful thing! I love you, Pam. 🙏🏻💕
Blessings on your family 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
💛💛🙏 and to yours, dear Pam!

He did indeed share that love Karla, and that understanding within it. Beautiful share kind lady, may His love ever be with us 😀❤️🙏
You know! You know!! Thank you, Mark. ♥️And you share the love like laughter, my friend~you’re passing it on so purposefully! Thank you for being you! 💕
And thank you for being you also kind lady, I get to see so much more because of that original, perfect journey you take. Thank you 😀❤️🙏
I rest in the work he did. How grateful I am for the foundation he laid. Thanks for sharing, my friend
It’s my blessing to share! Thank you for being here and supporting me. What a wonderful foundation indeed—now, if we can keep carrying that on! Many blessings to you and your family.
These are wonderful quotes that need to be shared again and again. Thank you for reminding us that peace is the vehicle that will drive us all towards our goals. I love that light and love can drive out darkness and hate. Just beautiful. Love to you and Finn, hugs, C
Thank you, C! Mitch Teemley shared on his site that the problem with quoting MLK is that it can go on FOREVER as there are SO many to share. It’s so true! He embodied the beliefs of Christ—of peace, love, forgiveness,…and righteous justice. I have to dribble this down to me—am I being a vessel of peace? Help us, Jesus! 🙂 I love you bunches and munches, C. Finn does too. 🙂
To lose your uncle at any time would be a blow. How much more so when you are writing about him and your early days with him. My condolences, Karla. Tough stuff, indeed. May our God richly bless and keep you and the entire tribe in this new loss.
You already know how our God will carry you through this, and even more how He will shape you through it. How? Into His image and into union with Him. What a gift is the gift of loss.
God bless you, my friend. And your little dog, too.
Tim
Tim, thank you, dear friend. In thinking of loss, I think of what you’ve experienced. I feel for my uncle’s siblings and his wife and kids for I know they feel the greatest loss of all. For all of us nieces and nephews, the great-nieces and nephews, who were impacted positively by these wonderful family members,…how blessed were we? Many family members are scattered across counties, countries, …or, some with no family. To experience loss was to have loved. I love the joy and the tear combo. It FEELS like life should feel—experiencing a deep emotion in the soul that isn’t created by man-but shaped in the image of our Creator who had nothing but goodness in mind when he created us. The redemption is local—so we feel a local loss—and THEN, our bodies our transformed, reincarnated, into the body and soul God originally designed. How amazing is that? It just amazes me and gives me HOPE. It’s so obvious to me; yet, for so long, it wasn’t either. I truly believe when someone nears the end of his/her life there is a moment with the Maker. And I’m so happy my “moments” have happened and I can experience heaven on earth—even in the worst of times. As you stated so beautifully, “shaped into his image”. I’m happy I’m living a full life. I’m happy I’m living. I’m oozing with gratitude—even when I need to work on my attitude, lol. I keep you, and Rascal, in my prayers and thoughts. You are sharpening the iron in me and helping my journey so much. Finn sends a little tiny paw “high five” to all of it, too! I know she’s thankful because it makes me better for her, too. 🙂
Ditto. ❤️❤️❤️
💛💛💛
His words should live in the hearts of every single one of us.
Absolutely! 💛 Thank you, Pam!
Thank you for a wonderful MLK tribute and quotations. I found myself singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth” all week. It’s an old song, but the message is just as powerful today. I often wonder if MLK listened to the song (it dates back to the 50’s).
It’s my blessing, Jennie! Like you, I was singing that song when I wrote,”Peace begins with me.” I love that song. What an interesting thought. He represented it well! Thank you for being here, my friend.♥️
My pleasure!
💛
What a waste of an amazing human being. And how sad that his dream has yet to come true.
May the peace, truth, and love spread. Thank you for being here.🩷
MLKs words resonate more than ever ❤️
They sure do, my friend. Sending love and prayers! 💕🙏 thank you!!!
Peace to all, yes, thank you good sir MLK Jr., for all you strived for in our world.
Wonderful words, my friend! Yes! Thank you, Mark!
These MLK quotes are more than just words; they’re a call to action! Karla, your love shines in every step you take! A true inspiration. 🤍🤍
A call to action! Stacy, I FEEL that! My devotion this morning tugged at that “call”, too. Oh, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. You are planting good seeds, dear friend. And you’ve grown a harvest of friends, like me. You are so kind and thoughtful. You’re an inspiration to me in so many ways. Thank you for your encouragement. I love you, Stacy.💛✨
Good to hear from you again, Karla! I’m a bit late reading my emails, but today I was very happy to see a few emails from you in my inbox. I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I’ve been thinking of you, and I am so happy to hear that your surgery was a success. Wishing you good health and lots of strength. Hope that 2024 is a marvelous year, full of happiness, love, good health and wonderful moments shared with family and friends.
Take care of yourself, my friend. 🥰 All the best, Marcela.
Marcela–it’s so great to “see” you! What a sweet and thoughtful message! I understand about being late on reading emails. My friend, I always running late it seems. 🙂 And always happy to just be here and read these sweet messages. 2024 has been off to a busy start. Love, loss, family time, new learning–each day brings me hope and wisdom. I could spend all day in the Blogosphere reading everyone’s words. And to see you today, made my heart smile. Your support means so much. I pray YOU and yours are doing well. It’s been a strange few months for me and I apologize about the disconnect I’ve had several times. I feel things are hopeful and looking up–I’ll take one hour at a time and I know you do, too! Take care of yourself. Many hugs and blessings, my friend. 💛💕🙏❤️
Good morning, dear Karla, it is amazing how peace can turn into love and unity of willing hearts. Thank you, sister, for sharing this message of hope. I pray you are fairing well as could be expected.
Good morning, Tangie. How thoughtful and kind! I love your words, “it is amazing how peace can turn into love and unity of willing hearts.” HOPE! Amen! I’m doing well, my friend. It was a beautiful weekend with family–some missing. And with God, I’m winning. I know you are too. Many hugs and blessings. Thank you for being here!
Always a blessing to experience the thoughts of Dr. King. As I continue to scale my mountain journey of faith, I look forward to seeing the eternal harvest of peace as envisioned by him. Blessings Karla, and may God’s grace lead us to furthering peace.
How beautiful, Richard. “As I continue to scale my mountain journey of faith, I look forward to seeing the eternal harvest of peace as envisioned by him.” Yes! Profound! And true! His Kingdom WILL reign as he once designed. I love that God understands our humanity as we build our faith. He experienced it too! Peace be with you and yours, my friend. Thank you for sharing and supporting!
I so love your quotes, Karla. Such an amazing man! Mine on the day were strong and direct. We need a bit of both but I wish we could just stop all of the nonsense. Hugs and love to you❣️

A lovely week to you. 🤗🙏🏻
Have a wonderful week!!❤️❤️❤️
🙏🏻♥️
Oh my how I love all these quotes you have collated hear! And they are so much more than quotes, just absolute truths that we can *try* to live out.
Love. It is the answer. Especially when we feel that tightness in our chest which tells us to lash out when we see something is wrong. We must speak up and speak out at injustice, and continue doing so, but we must also speak that truth in love, rather than hate.
And that final sentence melted my heart a little bit more. We must continue taking one step at a time, even when we don’t see the whole staircase.
Thank you for sharing these. 🧡🙏
Oh, Hamish! You are so filled with love and wisdom! It makes my heart and soul smile at your words–“We must speak up and speak out at injustice, and continue doing so, but we must also speak that truth in love, rather than hate.” I’m thrilled the last sentence melted your heart. One step at a time, my dear friend. Remember how loved we are. When the world seems filled with toils and snares, we know who CARES…HIS LOVE wraps us ever so gently, even if his nudges are a bit more “pointed” at times. Thank you for being here, dear friend. Your comments always give me pause to reflect, celebrate, and engage even deeper in my own relationship with Christ and with others, …friends such as you! God bless you, Hamish! ❣️🙏🤗💚 May peace and love continue to guide us!
