A day we will never forget Karla. So many innocent souls lost. I send my prayers to all the families still grieving, and I give my heartfelt thanks to the brave first responders who ran into those burning buildings in an attempt to save lives. With all the loss, let’s not forget the miraculous number of lives they saved that day, some of them losing their own lives in the process. 🇺🇸 Ginger

    1. Thank you, Ginger. Your words say everything. I honor them with you. So many brave people saved so many, too. We will never forget where we were or what we were doing, will we? Much love and hugs to you from Finn and me.❤️🙏🏻🤗

  2. I’ll never forget that day. I was teaching my class and another teacher came to my door. Quietly, she said, “Something terrible has happened. When you can, come to the office. It’s on TV.” Having grown up in New Jersey, it hit close to home for me. It brought America together for a while. Two decades later, we’ve never been more divided. Thanks for posting this. God bless you, Karla!

    1. Thank you for sharing, Cindy. I think it’s good to share, to remember. Cindy, thank you for teaching and your service. I was a young principal then, only 3 years in. The cooks, dear friends, came to get me. Watching in the kitchen, we pulled in a TV to lounge. Teachers were learning. One staff’s husband worked at Pentagon. Many pilot dads in our buildings. Mommas came to pick up kids. There was one higher than me that didn’t want kids leaving at first. Cindy, I was releasing them to the arms of their parents without any hesitation. They are who matter. I wanted to wrap up my own sons. Did you stay glued to your TV? I can’t imagine how you felt that it was so close to home. It’s sad that the things that can unite us, also divide us. What a shame. God bless you, Cindy!

    1. Sue, I remember going to you and Karen. We will never forget will we? Remember where the library was…remember how we all hugged each other tight? Gordon and Wayne has so many decisions…they let us lead with our hearts. I’ll never forget it. You still are all heart, Sue. ❤️💕💛

  3. Karla it was a moment in time that cannot be unseen, unfelt, unrecalled – even now 22 years later. It is a defining event for those old enough to remember, just as Pearl Harbor was seared into the mind of my mother’s generation. I paused this morning and said a prayer for all those who died and all who witnessed the attack and finally for our wounded nation. It pains me that patriotism has become a weapon instead of a means to heal…

    1. Me too, Pam. When I woke up early to begin devotions and pray, it hit me like it did you. Do you watch the TV documentaries? They hit straight to the heart. ❤️🙏

      1. If you can, try and find the one called Come From Away. It is about the planes that landed in Gander, Newfoundland on that day. It is heart wrenching and it is inspiring. They went on to make a screenplay of it that ran on Broadway for a while. Perhaps it was off Broadway. The music is incredible. But watch the documentary.

  5. That was a most terrible day, Karla. Shock reverberated round the whole world and it touched us all. I don’t think there’s anyone who will ever forget the horror.

    1. Lesly, you described the shock. I pray these memories can bring people closer ~to the basic human feelings and need for love. For what really matters. Thank you, my friend.❤️🙏🏻
