“I see the moon and the moon sees me; God bless the moon and God bless me.” And YOU.
Happy 55th anniversary to the Apollo 11th mission! The Artemis program hopes to return humans to the moon again (it’s been since 1972).
One day…Mars? My fascination for our vast universe remains; my care and concern for Earth revolves around how we treat our home and one another. Viewing vastness is a constant reminder of my smallness!

The Buck Moon is the full Moon in July, and is thought to originate from Native American culture.
Specifically, ‘Buck Moon’ refers to the fact that July is the time of year when male deer – known as ‘bucks’ – begin to grow their antlers, and is the beginning of game-hunting season.https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/advice/buck-moon

Love this ❤️ As a space enthusiast, seeing the night sky, especially the moon is like a daily habit. Only me and my telescope knows how many wonders we’ve seen together.
Aw, Ritish. Thank you 🌕💚 I really need a telescope~i spend so much time looking up.
Your last line hit my heart! Thank you my friend.
Trust me, you should get one, that’ll be your best investment ever. You know, the first telescope I had was bought from my first ever salary.
(Sorry, if I’m unnecessarily elaborating things 😅I just love talking to people who loves space)
Tell me anything you wish—I’ve got the space here! tee hee.
I’ve been researching them because of you. I remember when we had one when my sons were small. It wasn’t a great one. Cheap, I know.
Going to observatories, particularly seeing THROUGH the 24-inch Clark Refractor telescope at the Lowell Observatory when visiting the Grand Canyon last year, gives me chills! (and Nasa’s pic of the day (today’s panaroma in celebration of the anniversary, and the JW app–my complete fascination with that telescope–it doesn’t even seem real sometimes)…how could one not appreciate and love it?❣️
Aww, I’m so glad I could inspire you to explore the world of telescopes. I completely understand the thrill of gazing through a powerful telescope like the Clark Refractor – it’s truly awe-inspiring! And yes, the JWST is a marvel of technology, isn’t it? The images it’s capturing are simply breathtaking.
As of now I have Celestron AstroMaster 130 EQ, and I’m soon gonna upgrade this to even a powerful one (Just thinking about it day & night right know 😃) Hopefully around Christmas, I guess.
Ritish, those were the ones I was looking at, my friend. I can imagine I’d lose my sense of time staring at space through my telescope much like I do in my own head “space” when I’m lost in learning lol!
What a great Christmas for you! Thank you for sharing with me. I look forward to hearing and seeing more! Take care!
Thank you for this great reminder, Karla. I remember that Apollo 11 landing vividly. It was a Sunday night and I was watching it with the other members of my church youth group. It changed my worldview completely, reminding me how small, and yet how miraculous my life – and everyone’s – really is. Blessings to you as you continue your healing journey today.
Russell!! You’ve been on my mind! THANK YOU for being here and supporting me.
How COOL of a memory, my friend. I witnessed the Challenger devastation, live, in a classroom, …horrific.
I can’t imagine watching the moon landing live. Perhaps I’ll see one “live”. On my phone? Through my glasses? On my watch? Life moves on doesn’t it? I’ll always be impressed with such things, though! I’ll not stop looking for miracles.
Blessings to you and Joan. Are you all doing ok?
Thanks for asking about us. To be honest, this last month has kind of been one of those shows… you know. The shows you REALLY would rather not attend. Joan had total knee replacement surgery at the end of June. I followed a week later with some really severe neck spasms that sent me to Urgent Care twice and to the ER once. Both of those situations are finally resolving and are much better now, praise God. And even though it was a joy to do, I was also guest preaching at our church here in Fort Collins three times while the real pastor is on sabbatical. A joy, but also a bit of added stress.
Oh, Russell. I had a feeling…
I will be praying for both of you and your recoveries. I’m thankful things are better, but will continue praying dear friend.
I really want to get to Colorado~for several reasons (one is a conference on my cancer in Denver); to hear you guest preach would be amazing too! I can imagine the added stress that brought, too, with all the healing situations you’ve had. There’s no doubt God used you!
Please give Joan my prayers and regards too. I’m thankful to know you are both doing the best you can despite the circumstances! 🙏🏻❤️
Karla, it’s amazing how much of ‘space’ has been explored, yet that’s only equivalent to a single drop of water into the Atlantic and Pacific combined. And I don’t know if we have to add all the other bodies of water into this equation.
You captured some awesome moon photos. There’s something about the moon that’s so magical and mesmerizing.
As much as we need and rely on the sun, it’s the moon that’s definitely memorable!
Our Native Americans had it right. Their life revolves around the sun, moon and stars. They were exploring space from right here on Earth long before the white man came. We should have learned from them instead of trying to wipe them out!
You and Sweet Miss Finley definitely need a telescope!

You always have the perfect words and wisdom, Ginger! I was thinking of the vastness of the ocean and how little we’ve explored when I wrote this (of course, having watched Shark Week and all the documentaries—and how VAST our waters are in general).
What an amazing world in which we live. I see miracles all around and I love to keep thinking BIG.
Our Native Americans had it right–and still do. We could learn so much more.
We appreciate and love you, Ginger! I’m over the moon grateful for you! So is Finley!💕🤍🤗❣️🐾
Good moon photo, for an amateur. I like how you captured so well, the yellowish tones of that cheesy orb in the sky.
I wonder how people react, the next time humans walk on the moon. The first time it happened, in 1969, it was a huge, worldwide event. But then after that it became, “meh.”
It was my goal to find the cheesiness in it, Tippy (my cousin’s daughter and I were going back and forth about the cheese tone last night! and the man we saw on the moon 😉
I have the same thought as you about the next moon landing. What impresses us today is interesting. To say the least.
I think the craters make it look like Swiss cheese.
Yes!!! 🙌🏻
By the way, I found your “Follow” button. It was hiding behind the “Close and accept” button, at the bottom right-hand corner.
Oh, thank you, Tippy! Awesome! I’m just now getting to the P.C. and I’ll be “hit and miss” today as I run errands. I’m so glad you found it!
Hit and miss? What sort of errands are you running? Are you shooting squirrels for supper?
No, you goofball. I try to save them from shooters. And besides, they’re too chewy. 🤪😬…oops, if my mom is reading this she might recall the time Grandma made squirrel dumplings. Enough said there! Run, squirrel!
It was a perfectly acceptable meal back in the old days. Maybe squirrels wouldn’t be such pests if we started eating them again.
Hmm. You might be on to something. I don’t see chicken or cows as pests.
😄 Exactly.
🤭😂
Beautiful
Thank you, J.K.!
Good amateur capture Karla. We watched the moon for a couple hours driving home last night. It was orange in our area. We were reminded of the vastness out there.
Gary, I was praying for Tania while looking at it, dear friend. And all of you. God’s in the business of miracles–the moon, all of you, me, and so much more. When I’m holding that camera the Fultz family is with me! God bless you all!
PS–the orange was beautiful, I’m sure. I remember a fall moon of orange. I can’t wait to see how it “looks” tonight.
we have wildfire smoke in the upper atmosphere…this red sun and moon. Crazy.
Oh wow, Gary. Crazy!
I did not know that! And I missed that beautiful moon. Was it last night? I’ll have to stay up later tonight. Haha!
It’s supposed to be at its best tomorrow morning, I think? I’ll have to research that again…but for DAYS, when I was up at night, lol…I knew (and always know) it was leading to its full stage! You’d think all my pics of the full moons just look alike. Yet, in many ways, they are different to me depending on the time I view and capture the light. They all hold unique moments! I hope you enjoy it, too!!
Well, if I have to live vicariously through your pictures, you give me great ones to experience! Thank you! I enjoy them very much.
That’s precious, sweet friend. Mama M~have you been to the Lowell Observatory? You’d love it! 💕
Only to the gift shop! I’m hoping a grandkid or 3 will accompany me when they’re in town! ☺️
That made my heart skip, my friend. Oh, how wonderful!🥰🥹
I’ve always been fascinated with the moon! Love this! 🌕
Kelley, this doesn’t surprise me about you! I can imagine the words you would use to describe the moon~ perfectly poetic I know! Thank you dear friend 🌕💚💕
You captured the buck moon just beautiful perfectly with this great song and the buck that’s dancing with his deer.. lovely tune has me bee bopping. Any moon is a good moon. I pointed up in Cabo and saw a quarter moon and showed Sienna and now she knows moon.. It was soooo cute.. xo Happy dancing moon day my bright moon friend, Karla!!!🌕🌕🌛🌔🌜☽☾☾☽🌕🌑
Aww, thank you, C! I need to get to your Fri-Yay and see your place!
Cabo ~wow! I can see Sienna’s cuteness 🌕🥰💕🫶🏻 it was a dancing kind of day…so surreal! Happy Full Moon to you and your beautiful family too. Love you C💕🙏🏻
All in good time for sure!!! Yes indeed, she’s such a cutie.. xo Love you too💗
Ooh la la dear lady. The moon spoke to you and she is a precious gift. In her tides, in her adventure for us in those Apollo landings…and her ‘touch’. She effortlessly seems to swing our hearts to and fro, removes such stagnancy, even speaks to us in our bodies rhythms. I was even born in her light being a Cancer with a Cancer rising. I can ‘feel’…well, too much 🤣 But that was my journey to understand life I suppose. But she most definitely spoke to you 🤗❤️
Great images Karla, I think she may have visited you and Finn beautifully, in your pictures, your words, and the love in creating them. Thank you for a precious night time share, and a Neil Young serenade to her light was delightful 🤗🥰😀❤️🙏
Mark~ when is your birthday, my friend?? I’m a cancer (with cancer 😬🙃) and perhaps I feel too much, too. Lol. I feel lots of things during full moons~ but thankfully, I don’t grow fur and fangs! Phew 😮💨! I hope you’re giggling and not saying, “but I do!”
The moon is another beautiful gift from God. He never ceases to astonish me in his creations! I’m so happy you enjoyed the photos~ AND the song 🎶.
Finn and I are are sending love to the moon to bounce off reflections to you when it’s time for you to view its fullness! 🌕🌕🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️🐾🐾🐾👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
30th June Karla, it is our end of financial year and my dad used to call me his little tax return…I still don’t know if that’s good or bad 🤣
No fangs or fur, no urge to bite people…but I’ve gone grey a lot, does that count? 😂
And yes we ‘feel’ hearts and emotions from others normally, and are empath’s by nature…which can be a little emotionally draining until we heal ourselves…then it just flows on through. We cry at anything that touches us…but…that is love. The secret is while we are holding our fears, we are holding all else. Understand our fears and ‘let go and open’…and it all flows on through. It just takes 40 or 50 years to learn that. But God has a plan in it all 🤣
Love beautifully received over here Karla, thank you. But the neighbors aren’t sure why I’m on the balcony, freezing in a cold wind, and smiling up at the moon 🤗🤣❤️
Sending much love to you and Finn right now also, the moon is in full swing and glowing beautifully kind lady. May her love too (and God’s), heal that generous heart within you, and set you free in that touch of divine light 🤗😀❤️🙏
Aw, Mark. Your words make me smile, my friend. When I viewed the moon last night, she hid behind clouds as if playing “hide and seek”. I laughed and watched~ the colors around the clouds were incredible; I took some neat sky pics. I said, “I’ve got to go to bed, moon, will you at least say good night?” Well, I got a peek of light (a pic to prove it! lol) and I strolled back home (I walked up the road to try and get the best pic)!
The moon and miracles collided~ just a fabulous day. I don’t even care about all the physical stuff that tries to sideline me! This morning I’ve been reading the promises of God in prayer and study ~ how can I not be thankful?
Re~your birthday ~ happy belated birthday! I bet your Dad said, “Just look at that cute little tax return!” I wish you could hear me giggling 🤭. No fur or fangs~ I finally see gray coming in too! Finn and I appreciate your love and support! Here’s to a winter filled with the warmth of love, dear friend! 🙏🏻❤️🐾👏🏻🙌🏻💜🎶
Thank you Karla, love and warmth gratefully received kind lady 🤗🥰❤️🙏
Oh, gray…you can’t have that yet, it must be illegal at 24 surely 🤣
But I do hope you had a great night chatting with your moon. Those special night trails with the moon are indeed a delight in her light. And so much more profound in thanking her maker. Thank you for sharing her, God…and you too 🤗🥰❤️🙏
I chatted ALL night with the moon~ sleep? Not much! Lol. Gray is perfectly legal at 54~which is still seen very young by some~ and many have gone gray by 30! In my family, I’m catching up. I love gray! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 we shall see…
Here’s to a Spirit filled Sunday! And for your evening~ 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
Wow Karla, you must be kidding me…54…can I have what your having please? 🤣
Now that is that part of God within you kind lady, that unconditional love you have found on your path. No wonder that cross spoke to you. A gift of that light that is you 🤗🥰❤️🙏
Your blessings gratefully received for that Spirit filled day that I did have thank you. And yes, it is my evening (now 11.30pm)…in fact, and like you, some nights are a little difficult for that sleep thing 😀 But I shall send you much healing light and prayer for some sleep to gather some rest my friend for your coming evening…or a sneaky nap during the day 🤗 Take care kind lady, love and light from down under 🤗😀❤️🙏
Thank you, Mark! Tee hee~ it’s in the genes? Or maybe a Finley needed? Or being around kids for extended times? 🥰
Rest well in the land down under, our friend! 💕🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 so happy your day was wonderful!
Probably all three Karla, and that young love they bring out in you 🤗🥰🤣❤️🙏
💕❣️💕 awwww
Beautiful shots.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you!
Great shots!
Thank you, dear Pam! I appreciate you! 🌕💕
Yes, our moon is huge and round at night at the moment Karla, I love that it passes over me and then passes over you on the other side of the world. Dead of winter and it will keep me awake as I try and sleep in my tent next week. But there is such energy to it.
Kate, I was just sending Mark a message and thinking about you two and when you see our moon~
Oh wow, the dead of winter in a tent~ you’re my kind of hero and camping buddy, dear friend. My fewest hours of sleep are during full moons~I understand. I love the energy, despite that. Yes! 🙌🏻 🌕💕 I’m glad we’re experiencing the goodness together
Oh there is no doubt I will kick my own butt – I did last time, but the benefits outweigh the discomfort – much love my friend wish you lived closer
Way to go, Kate!!! I love this! I wish I lived closer, too. What a camping adventure we’d have. 💕
Beautiful Moon shots, Karla. I love the Niel Young Song!
Thank you, Dwight! I had this feeling you would! That’s awesome.🎶
:>) You are welcome.
Awesome Moon Shots. Insightful Post.
Love the song, so perfect for this post. Love Neil Young, I’m still trying to get this album on vinyl.
Thank you, Willie! I appreciate you so much!! Such a great voice and talent isn’t he? 🎶 album on vinyl~great language! 🥰
Yay on seeing shots of the moon again. It does have a way of reminding us how small we are! I didn’t realize I missed 2 posts of yours. I have to get caught up! 😊
Thank you, my friend! No worries~ I get behind so much. I appreciate you!
You got a special viewing early 🤭🤗🥰💕🌕🌕🌕
I was the lucky one to get a special viewing! 🥰
Awweee 💕💕❤️❤️🌕 we wouldn’t have been up if Jason would tell us a story to cure our insomnia lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂🤪😬
Karla – Thanks for this neat and thoughtful reminder of the moon landing anniversary and for taking our thoughts beyond to the Creator of all things. I do make mention of it in my post tomorrow. I can remember the year because I had just graduated high school in May. I do wish my amateur photos were up to your level, great shot! God bless you. Always praying. ~ Butch
Butch~ thank you so much! I just visited your beautiful place. I love the verse from Thessalonians and your captures amaze me. Let’s talk about that butterfly! For some reason, I’m not able to comment on Reader from my phone. The summer photos are magnificent, Butch. Hayfields, crepe Myrtle, Sunflowers, and coneflowers. The colors in the rainbow and I saw the giant in the clouds, too! Your posts are inspiring, dear friends.
Thank you for your support and prayers. Your moon capture (so beautiful) reminds me of how we are all in this together. It’s interesting how unique our Creator made all things! It’s also intriguing what humans choose to see in our world. Keeping my eyes on our naturally occurring world helps me stay grounded in the goodness! God bless you both and your families. Please give Pam my love. Many blessings and prayers!
Sparky is a total space geek – and by extension so am I! We celebrated by drinking Tang with breakfast. But he refused to break out the “space food sticks” which were a gift from his best friend. You see they are available to order online! I remember watching the moon landing on TV. My dad had a tape recorder (one of the very first cassette tape type) and we taped the audio…. I wonder where that cassette is now?
This doesn’t surprise me, Val! Space food sticks sound amazing, too! How cool you saw it~ I hope you find the cassette! I’m sending love and prayers…from your splash day yesterday to big move Wednesday 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
All my life I’ve reset my mind by looking up at night and remembering there’s so much more up there, Karla!
That’s wonderful, Mark! “Reset my mind”! Yes!! Thank you, my friend!
love these photos , Karla and the back story of buck moon ; has it really been 55 years since the Apollo Mission? it was so groundbreaking
It’s crazy, John! I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I’m so happy you’re here to enjoy the moon with me!
I’m like you, Karla : like that song says: ‘the future’s so bright I have to wear shades’ 🙂
Amen, John (as I peek over my shades looking at you :-)! 🤍🙏😁
Spooky, just come in from watching the full, orange moon just above the hills. I love the idea that as I’m looking at it, others we care for who are separated by miles or who have moved on to the next part of the journey, that they could be looking at the same moon. Shortens the gap between us ❤️❤️
Garry, I thought the SAME thing. Spooky, surreal, and amazing. Our Creator and the fabulous Cosmos and our global community–here we are–together! I’m smiling with you! ❣️❣️❣️
I was there, 55 years ago, glued to the black and white TV. Seems like yesterday. Since then, I pay attention to the moon and watch the sky. My students love ‘Curiosity’, the robot on Mars. I think the next generation will take us far.
Jennie, how wonderful a memory! I thought of the projects you and your students have done–the current and future scientists, astronauts, physicists, mathematicians, and the writers who will write about it all–you’re teaching them! Just amazing, Jennie! I appreciate you so much. 💕💕❣️🤗
Thank you, Karla. Your many words mean a lot.😍
You’re welcome, dear Jennie! 💕💕💕
I sometimes wonder if part of being in our resurrected bodies will mean being able to travel around the universe to take in more of God’s creation
Matt, that’s a beautiful thought! That gives me a new addition to my flight plan!
Can you imagine if people land on Mars on day?! Crazy to think about, but it may happen in my lifetime. I hope you are having a beautiful pain-free day. Big hugs 💕💕
Thank you, sweet Rachel! Big hugs and love to you and your family! 💕💕💕
55 years! Wow. I love the light of your post as it seemed to me to be open and positive. 55 years ago I was camping with my parents. We were sleeping in a tent near one of the many lakes in central BC near 108 Mile House. I remember waking up and mist was rising up off the lake and it was so peaceful. Dad bought a newspaper and all the news was about the Apollo 11 landing.
It was a real contrast as we were sleeping on the floor of a tent, entertaining ourselves in a very cold lake and skipping stones on the water but astronauts from earth had survived to the moon and were standing on it.
Now knowing the technology they had compared to what most of us carry around in our pockets – it was certainly a miracle that they were able to achieve the landing and return safely.
Hugs, and be safe.
David, thank you for being here, supporting me, and sharing your amazing experience!
When I think of BC, I think of you and his beautiful it must be. We had a ZOOM retreat with my cancer support group yesterday and there was a member from BC.
Camping is something I love and your vivid memory and description are heavenly! God bless you my friend!
Hugs back! About the technology ~it’s crazy to think that! Thank you!
I imagine our grandchildren will have opportunities we can only imagine. This universe is such a mystery and I’m am endlessly fascinated with its vastness. Will we ever find life? Much love and hugs, C
I can’t even imagine what their world will be like! We share the same fascinations!
Here you are, reading little ol’ me after ALL YOU’VE DONE! C,…I love you. Thank you, big sis. I’m so glad you’re here and we’re under the same moon.
Living during the 60s, the anticipation of traveling to the moon ramped up with every NASA mission. I look forward to witnessing how our space program navigates again into the stars. Karla, your selected music took me back to the VFW Club in my hometown where Colleen and I enjoyed a Sunday matinee rendezvous with my Dad and his friends. Great music, and a few people helped us to improve our dance steps.
How wonderful, Richard! You should see the smile on my face reading your response! Yay! I was at Kennedy Space Center a month ago. My daughter-in-law’s brother and his wife were there Monday to see the SpaceX Falcon carry NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft through liftoff! If all goes well, it will fly by Mars in Feb. 2025 and then back to Earth by Dec. 2026! I think that’s reason to do another dance, Richard! Many blessings. I appreciate you so much!
