If faith were a felony, I’d be imprisoned for life.

Lock me up, Lord.
My cancer isn’t a death sentence. It’s a …
life sentence. 🩵

Do you know how loved you are? No matter what.
Have faith 🩵

Once again, another hit song from the great voice of K.L. Hale. Well, at least it’s a hit with me. Your voice has a reassuring, sincere quality, that I find inspirational.
Is that you on the guitar? I admire guitar playing. I tried to learn it once, but my fingers just wouldn’t cooperate.
Nice winter scene photos, also. We’re getting snow today, but none of it is sticking. That’s good, because I threw my snow shovel away, years ago.
Tippy, you’re so kind, my friend. That isn’t me. It’s just a recording; although I’d love to pick one up and play. I recorded this first thing this morning as a “thank you” anthem to God for another day.
I’m thinking of buying another keyboard–I miss the piano. I’m not great, but music is coming back to me like an old friend. It comforts me and it’s how I find peace in it all. In God’s nature and creation–the music and rhythm of life!
I’m glad the snow isn’t sticking since you don’t have your shovel! Ugh! I hope your bug is better, too!
Well, your voice is as good as that guitar, if not better.
I love the piano. I got mine about three months ago, and I think I’m progressing fairly well, at learning it. Still not ready for any virtuoso performances at Carnegie Hall, but maybe one day.
I got rid of my keyboard. It was a MIDI, which was a mistake to buy. I had to connect it to my computer and use shaky software, just to get it to work. I should have bought what is known as an “electric keyboard” that has its own onboard sound. No computer connection required.
The piano I just bought is electric. It’s a digital hybrid. I love the sound of it, and the good news is that it never has to be tuned.
Thank you. I’m feeling much better now, but I worry that my wife is starting to come down with it. Poor gal. She didn’t sleep at all, last night.
Thank you, Tippy!
I’m so happy to hear about your piano playing. Way to go! I’m glad you shared that about the MIDI (I bought my youngest son one of these to learn with while he was training on the road). I feel as you do.
I’d love to hear more about which one you bought, Tippy. I’ve been looking for 2 years, lol. About a month ago I stopped at the music store and ALMOST bought one. I’m still researching.
I can’t believe you wouldn’t be ready to perform at Carnegie! 🙂 I think it’s SO WONDERFUL that you bought a piano and decided to learn! That speaks volumes to me about YOU. Just so cool.
I’m happy you’re feeling better, but so sorry
that your wife ended up with the crud. I’ll pray for her! Bless her heart. There’s so much sickness going around (which is why there’s never a problem with finding a substitute job). Keep taking care–I hope everyone heals well.
Yes, unless you’re into producing music using multiple tracks that you pre-record, a MIDI is not the way to go.
Any standalone electric piano should suffice well, but there are differences in quality, depending on how much you’re willing to spend. But I don’t think the differences are all that great.
I bought a Kawai CA-901, which is a bit on the more expensive side. But I also looked at Casios, which cost a lot less. I don’t think there’s a great difference in quality. Casios are also easier to find. Most piano stores carry Casios.
My Kawai looks pretty much like a regular, upright piano, except the back is a little shorter. It has the standard 88 keys, three pedals, and so forth. Also, it weighs much less than a regular piano. I think mine weighs less than 200 lbs. So it’s easier to move.
Anyway, I hope that helps with your search.
Thank YOU, TIPPY!!! Yes, very helpful!
When you have a live performance, Karla and I will come hear you! Keep playing and you will get better and better. Practice makes perfect, remember. 🙂
Sorry that your wife is feeling bad now. I am sure you will take care of her as well as she took care of you!
By the time I get that good, I think it will be a dead performance.
She’s actually doing better. She just needed a nice, long nap. Anyway, she took care of me by buying some Top Ramen and telling me to cook it myself. But she did find a pan out of the cupboard for me.
😶✋️!
I am glad she is doing better. Ramen is one of my daughter’s favorite meals. LOL!
It was about the only meal I could afford, back in my younger days. I think Top Ramen could solve hunger in every Third World nation.
Oh, Tippy. That’s using your noodle!
Thank you. Sometimes my noodle comes in handy.
Awwwww
I have a golden shovel I could send you. 😉
No thanks. Those shovels are for people who tend to dig very deep holes.
Hey, if one is going to dig a hole, they may as well make it deep!
Although for you, that’s only about 12 inches.
“Haha” smartass! 😛
Praying for you, Karla. Beautiful song and photos. Love and hugs. 🩷
Thank you, sweet Kelley. You know how much I appreciate your prayers and encouragement. Love and hugs to you, my friend. ❣️❣️❣️
Karla, I enjoyed hearing your lovely voice and praising the Almighty with you. Thanks for sharing the song with us!
I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Manette! Many blessings, my friend. I appreciate your kindness and prayers. Many blessings to you!
Karla, I admire your unfloundering faith and zest for life. You are an inspiration with a lovely voice.
Ingrid, how kind to stop in and share such a sweet message. It means so much! Thank you!
Karla, what uplifting and “reminding” words together with the pictures you can only smile and feel life growing inside… and this all while listening to your beautiufl voice and message. Thank you for that, my dear friend 💖
It’s my blessing, Erika. THANK YOU for sharing how these words made you feel. Smiling and life inside…that touches my heart, dear friend. I remind myself daily how blessed I am. ❣️❣️❣️
You have that ability to make people see life in life. Thank you for sharing your experiences and insights with us, dear Karla. We benefit more than you might think 💖💖💖
Aww, dear sister. Thank you so much. How humbling. 🥹🥲❣️❣️❣️🙏🏼
💖💖💖
My dearest, Karla. I love hearing your beautiful voice! The photos are gorgeous and bring a sense of calmness and display the greatness of our Creator!
Sending love and prayers sweet friend ❤️🙏🏻☕️🎶❤️
Precious Pam, thank you for your heartfelt words and prayers. I knew you’d love this song! And pictures, too. Nature, music, and the greatness of our Creator. It’s the best things in life.
I love you so much! Prayers for you all. I pray your Daddy is doing ok, too. 🩷💚❣️🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love your pictures! I’m so glad I read about your faith today and how important it is. 🌸
Aww, thank you, Kymber! I appreciate you taking the time to stop, read, and comment. Many blessings!💚🙏🏼
Hi Karla: such faith, such buoyancy, such peace and acceptance in the images; it’s good you are staying strong and positive, such a testament for us navigating lesser obstacles —
Good work on the incarceration theme, Karla. I hope you never actually have to write from behind bars. Not even the libation kind!
Well, maybe a coffee bar….
Thank you for the song. Thank you as well for the reminders that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Regardless of external circumstance, the life surrendered to Christ will live in the highest form of freedom – freedom from bondage to sin, self, spiritual death, and the influences of evil.
“Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.” – Psalm 43:5
All the best to you and the Finley! Rascal sends his snow-covered best! I send my best, too, but without the snow!
Tim
Tee hee, Tim. I’m giggling at the ….coffee bar!
You’re such an encouragement to me, dear friend. I’m so glad you enjoyed the song. It’s hard to sing it without crying. You might hear the “shaky” part–it was a first thing, first cut kinda morning. Early and that’s how I praise him. First thing, during a lot of things–MOST things and it should be in ALL things. His goodness is running after us.
Our lives surrendered–freedom! I thought of the bondage last night and almost intertwined that word somewhere. I’m glad you used it. Emotional, physical, and spiritual bondage is NOT an entrapment that I’ll ever experience again. I would never want anyone to feel sorry for me because of a disease. I feel bad for so many who have it worse. Even more so, Tim, I feel sorry for others who don’t know the freedom that comes from surrendering EVERYTHING to God. There’s nothing else that comes even close.
I love the Psalm you used. YES!
Finley and I send our best to you two! I pray you are staying warm (and icicle free?). Is Rascal a pupscicle? I bet you’re not rolling around it like he is! God bless you, dear friend. I’m excited to see how God uses our platforms and walks to grow his Kingdom and spread the fire of faith!
I’ve never read a blog post that said so much with so few words Karla! The truth is, none of us really know how long or short our lives will be. Yet, every morning God’s mercies are new, and heaven, for the child of God,
is guaranteed!
Thank you! Amen, David! We’re all “doing SHORT time” on this side of eternity! Each day his mercies are new–I’m SO THANKFUL for that, dear friend!
Thank you for being here. You’re such an encouragement and prayer warrior! I think of you when I’m at school and pop into all the offices. Many blessings to you!
‘If faith were a felony, I’d be imprisoned for life.‘ Haha, well said Karla. A ‘sentence’ gladly excepted 🤣 And…’Lock me up, Lord. My cancer isn’t a death sentence. It’s a …life sentence.‘……it is indeed a ‘life’ with God ❤️🙏
We go these places and touch so much kind lady, be spoken to often, and experience it all. And yes it takes a while but slowly we begin to see that it does indeed have a purpose, a very profound one. And the love says it all 🤗
Great song dear lady, that lovely heartfelt wish to express what you found…and done well. Even your photo’s speak it beautifully. Mind you those ducks are lost, didn’t go south, or felt enough of your love to stay in its warmth instead 😂
But that family of snow on that stump…I knew something lived in that stuff, keeping it nice, clean and fluffy 🤗🥰
Great post Karla, thank you for sharing its song. Big hugs to you and Finn from across the big blue. I hope all are well and getting excited for the Spring not too far away now kind lady 🤗🥰🐾🦓🎶🕊️❤️🙏
Aww, hello, Mark! How are you, my friend?
Did you know that Ginger was trying to visit with me here and it still is not working? I wish you and I could put our “heads” together and figure that one out!
THANK YOU for your always beautiful and thoughtful words. It’s funny how I thought of that sentence, “If faith were a felony…” as I was walking a couple of weeks ago and the shadows of the limbs reminded me of prison bars–and I thought of my “prison” of peace. The term, “Life sentence”, I’ve often thought of INSTEAD of “death sentence.” And with Jesus, we all have a life sentence, if we choose!
You know that profound place in the soul where that true peace resides–when you peel back all the layers to heal and meet God THERE! And he was THERE the whole time–I just didn’t trust enough.
Your words about the song are kind. Truly, it’s praise. I sang it first thing this morning–but I’ve been singing it since I first heard that song–HIS goodness RUNS after us, Mark. It makes me tear up thinking about it!
You found the snow ‘family’. I had written this post on my first snow walk–it sat in “drafts” (no, not “drifts”, lol) and I tweaked it and added more photos. Those are TINY snow people that represent my family. A mother/daughter duo approached me when I was taking this pic and they laughed along with me. I told them another snowman was further up the trail waiting to say, “hello” to them, too. There were only 7 of us on the trail total that day. It was like my own Narnia. Perfect and peaceful!
We are doing well, Mark. In many ways, I’m stronger, in other ways, I’m having symptoms and new things. Through it all–grandkids growing, all of us “aging”, health, home, and school, I’m keeping my focus and perspective on eternity. I’m focusing on only that which matters–or trying to with God’s help!
One hour at a time! I’m thankful for you, my friend.
Big hugs from me and Finn. Before we know it, Spring will be here and you’ll slip into a cooler season—you’re a blessing!! 🎶❣️🙏🏼💞🐾🦓🩷
Ok, let me put my thinking cap on a bit more. Up to this point I ended up having Ginger send me an email as her comment to any of my posts and put her comment in myself on the page or from in the Control Panel. If you look at one of my posts (not the last post), you will see me commenting by saying ‘A comment from my lovely friend Ginger….’, then I just comment to her comment. Because she doesn’t have a blog I think that is why she is blocked. Otherwise anyone would be able to come in and make a mess. Mind you, she could make a blog and just put up a welcome page or something and just sign in to that each day…then she would give us her heart and soul on here 🤣
It seems your ‘walks with God’ get very interesting my friend. God knows your journey and He speaks to you well because of how open your heart has become because of it. It is hard, but I have no doubt you are being guided beautifully dear lady. Even I have to stop and listen when your heart speaks my friend, it glows with that love well 🤗❤️🙏
And I am thankful for that dear lady, it brings that hope and faith so much closer to the surface in hearing your heart ‘sing’, whether vocally or your words, the epitome of that love found. Thank you, and I have no doubt that your ‘trust’ in God is speaking well ❤️🙏
And much love, light and blessings returned in kind from me Karla, and one day I am going to find some snow and stand in its wonder too. Maybe not today, for some reason I pray madly but it just refuses to visit when it is 37C. Go figure 🤗🤣😂❣️🐾🦓🎶❤️🙏
Oooh sweet Karla, I love this song, and now it’s even more special with you singing it. ❤️ Your faith is so strong, precious friend, and I am blessed to know you. Love you, girl! 🥰
Ah, C…I love you, too! How precious. My faith continues to be my rock, dear friend. I know it is for you, too. Happy Tuesday! Thank you for being such a support! I’m blessed to know you too!💞💞💞💞
Beautiful pictures and post Karla. 💕
Thank you, sweet Sadje. You’re so kind. I appreciate you!💞🙏🏼
You’re very welcome dear friend
As a Black African woman, I deeply resonate with your words. Faith has been a cornerstone in my life, guiding me through challenges and triumphs. Your strength and unwavering belief are truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey and reminding us all of the power of faith. Stay blessed and continue to shine your light.
Thank you, my friend, for such a beautiful and heartfelt response. It means so much to me. I’m so happy to hear how faith has been the cornerstone of your life, too. Your words are humbling.
It’s my blessing to be here and to know you.
Stay blessed as you continue your walk of faith, too, my sister.
You give it your all, always, my friend Karla.
Karla I love this post for so many reasons! First and foremost is the message that God’s love is given freely and when accepted is freeing! Your voice is beautiful – when we sing we pray twice!! Much love from snowy and cold Indiana to you and Finn!! 🐾💕💕🙏🏻
Happy Tuesday, dear Val. I think of you and the warriors on this “meeting” day. THANK YOU for the love, prayers, and support, dear friend. I’m so happy you’re FREE with ME!
Much love to you and Mochi and the clan up there! BRRR.
It’s beautiful today and tomorrow in my neck of the woods, Val. We love you!💙❄️🐾🙏🏼
A blessed Tuesday to you and Finn!! Yes the prayer warriors are holding you in prayer… Much love Karla!!
❤️
🩷
Amen. Karla, you’ve taken “faith” and turned its journey into a blessing. Dear God, accept my humble steps as I seek your life sentence. Always walking with Jesus!!
Thank you, Richard. Amen! I love being “prison” mates, tee hee. Many blessings. I appreciate YOUR walk of faith and how you share that with all of us, too.
Life sentence- eternal life sentence. What a blessing. Love the photos little sister. Are you tempted to jump in and play in the ice water? 🙂
Hi, brother! Thank you!
Would you believe I had NO temptation to jump in? HOWEVER, I’ll forever be that girl that thinks, “Hmm, I wonder if I could walk on it?” and my head immediately goes to news clips of deadly mistakes like that, Little Women where Amy falls through the ice and Laurie rescues her—or when Harry breaks through the ice and George jumps in to save him in “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Do you see brother how my mind works?
I hope you’re well! I may not “see” you for a couple of busy days, but please take care. Many blessings as you go about teaching!🙏🏼🥰
You have a creative mind little sister 🙂
Hope the next days are blessed for you
Beautiful Post and Beautiful Pictures.
My Dear Friend and Sister in Christ, you are such a precious soul and a true Blessing. I am praying with all my heart that the Lord not only heals you but also surrounds you with His Love, Mercy, and Grace.
May He fill you with an abundance of comfort and embrace you each and every day. You are in my thoughts and prayers always.
Loved the Song. Absolutely Beautiful …
Brother, I’m sorry I got pulled away and haven’t responded until now.
THANK YOU for your precious and heartfelt response. I’m so happy we met this side of heaven, Willie! You have inspired me so much. I pray that you feel his comfort and embrace daily. It means so much that you take time to mention my name to our Heavenly Papa! I’m doing the same for you—Willie, I have a journal with everyone’s name. My prayer life has grown–I’m still growing. I pray over that journal and for specific things my friends mention or what I learn through conversations. When I see your name, I stop and thank God. When our WP friends pop in, that’s when I can pause and pray–“God watch over them, reveal yourself to them, comfort them….God, help us all.” Or whatever comes to my mind.
I’m happy we’re family, brother. Keep on keepin’ on–you’re making a difference. Don’t forget that! Give your precious wife my love and hugs, too.
Thank you so much for your beautiful words, my Dear Sister, you got me all chocked up with emotions. 🙏 Your prayers and thoughtfulness mean the world to me, and I feel so Blessed to have you as part of my life. It’s incredible how God brings people together, and I’m grateful for this connection. I’m honored to be in your prayers, and I pray for you and your loved ones as well. Keep growing in Faith, you’re such an inspiration to me.
Sending love to you and yours, and big hugs to you and your family 🙌💖
God Bless You today and always.
Willie, you’re so precious, brother. Although I’m not here often as I’d like, when I see “you” and our family members, it gives me such encouragement. I’m so grateful for our connection, too. I’m honored by your prayers and so glad we’re on this journey “home” together!
I feel your love and always send it back to you and your precious family. Many blessings, brother!💞❣️🙏🏼
I love this blog. The encouraging and enlightening words are soothing. Yes, have faith. I enjoyed the photos, too
Hazel, thank you for such a beautiful and heartfelt response. I’m so happy you enjoy it—and even more, feel encouragement and enlightenment. God bless you—keep the faith and don’t lose heart, my friend. I appreciate you!
Aw, I love how you say it, Hale. Yes, keep the faith. Keep posting and keep shining. Have an amazing day as you are.
You are most welcome!
Yes! Lock me up, Lord! And throw away the key. Great to hear from you again, Karla and great to hear your reminder about the real source of our freedom. May God keep you lovingly confined FOR LIFE!
Thank you, dear Russell! I’m so happy you enjoyed this. Yes, I’ll take that confinement for LIFE!
Ah, Life. When we think “those were the good ol’ days” and get lost in nostalgia, I’m thinking, “Gosh, we were a mess then, too!” LOL. Everything is just now out in the open, thanks to technology and transparency. Perhaps we can use this honesty to make the world….even better? Here’s to faith and trying!
How can I pray for you two? Are you healing? I appreciate you!
beautiful, truly beautiful ❤️❤️
Thank you, dear friend. ❤️❤️

I came here for your words, and your voice is a bonus! I’m feeling uplifted and blessed, Dear Sister. God has a way of touching my heart on your site! Thank you for sharing these pieces of you—your faith and your story. I love you! Big hugs! Many prayers! 🙏🏻🩵🙏🏻
C, you are so sweet and precious! I was sipping my butterfly pea powder tea and said a prayer for you. Thinking of you at school and your home—how you once again are blooming into your beautiful self as you “fly” with grace for those around you and lift US in the process. For you to say I uplift and bless you warms my heart. You do the same for me, sweet CL.
I LOVE YOU! ❤️ Thank you! 🩵🙏
Beautiful words, Karla! Thank you, as you always sprinkle fairy dust and deepen the heart. Zeb is doing the same thing at school. He has your gift. He is ‘booked’ every weekend with children through February. I think God had a hand in Zeb’s visit with Gloria.
Oh, Jennie! Your words are so precious and kind. I’m so HAPPY to hear about Zeb! Yay! I can’t wait to hear all of his stories! God DID have a hand in this visit. I’ve been thinking of you a lot. I’ve been a bit under the weather for about 18-20 hours so my apologies for late reply—a bug from school! YOU take care and enjoy your weekend. Sending loads of hugs and love from Finn and me
You are never late, Karla. 🥰 Zeb and Gloria are booked for home visits with children through the first weekend in March. After that we’ll have a big send-off party for them as they travel to Missouri for more adventures. I will try to get parent permission to post the amazing adventures in her blog. When you read the journal, you will be thunderstruck. 💕
YAY YAY YAY! I can’t wait!! I WILL BE THUNDERSTRUCK! YES!❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️🦓
The voice of an angle! You are such a miracle, sharing your faith, love of life, and inspirational messages. I love you little sis, I love your heart, your wisdom born of life experience. Love the images of winter, a time to restore, rest, and prepare for the birth of something new in the spring. Sending love and prayers your way, C
Oh, big sis..thank you. How sweet.
I was JUST at your place–reading of your trip to NYC, your girls, experiences…etc…
THANK YOU for being you. Your kindness, love, support, and prayers have lifted me for years.
I wouldn’t wish some of my life experiences on others; yet, I can be thankful for each one of them NOW. I wouldn’t be me without them. God is the reason I’m here, C. I can’t imagine my life without the glorious adventures he’s given me to show his miracles. Truly it’s not about me–but HIM. I’m a vessel. I’m so happy he’s using it all.
I’m so happy you loved the images, too. It’s warmer here today, C. I’ve been fighting some flu? Now, congestion, cold—I feel spring ahead. But I’m keeping an eye on heaven and not getting “lost” in the turn of the calendar pages and worldly stuff just to “entertain”. It keeps me grounded. Nature has that way.
Winter’s hibernation, I hope, gives me more spring in my step, big C. I’m trying not to overdo it; and underdo it. I pray you are well. I can’t wait to read what adventures Larry might have up his sleeve for you all this year! I feel your love and prayers. “Seeing” you gives me great joy! I love you and pray for you all!❣️💙❣️🙏🏼🎶🎶
I missed your post the first time around. I am having computer issues. But I got to hear your beautiful song. You definitely should get some type of instrument. The scripture says to worship Him with the instruments. It does not say you must take lessons or be good at it. Just play from your heart. I have a trumpet, mandolin and a keyboard. I love the trumpet the most and it is also the hardest. But the Lord blesses it. That is all you need. Don’t waste time. You will be so blessed. Your love for Him will flow through everything you do.
I love you so much. Your pictures are so beautiful. Hope your Dad is well. And always awaiting your good reports.
Springtime is right around the corner! Little flowers are waiting for you. That is what I would love to hear. Have you heard the song “Little Flowers?” It is by the Heritage Singers – Val Mace. I would love to hear you sing it. !!!!!! 🎶❤️🌹🕊️📯😁
I understand, Mama Wenda! I’m not here everyday, I understand!
Oh, Mama. I’ve played several instruments over the years. He hears our praises!
Thank YOU for being an instrument of ministry and sharing his praises. You are a blessing to me and so many!
I look forward to hearing this song. Recently, a friend sent me a song titled, ‘Flowers’ (and another blogger posted this song). Seeds are being sown all around me!
Thank you for being a constant source of love and inspiration. Much love and hugs! ❣️🎶🙏🏼💙🎶🎶🎶💞🥰🤗🩷🩷
That song has such a great message and it sounds just like you! I love it and listen to it everyday. I woold be so blessed to hear you sing it. But no pressure! lol!
Love you, my sweet babydoll! 😘
Aww, Mama Wenda–you are so sweet!! I love you, too! I’m praying to get my voice back soon! I’ve had a nasty bug and I THINK I’ve turned a corner! I pray you are doing your best, too! 💞🥰❣️🎶🎶🎶
I’ll pray about it, too. I am doing good! ❤️🎶😘🌹📯😁🕊️
I’m happy to hear that, Mama Wenda! 💞💞💞❣️❣️
Love you so much!😘🌹❤️🎶🕊️
I love you oodles and noodles! ❣️💞❣️💚💚💚
I will not forget that one! OODELS AND NOODLES! 😂🤣🤣😅😋😊🥰🤗🤩😙🤣😁
❤️😁
💝💝💝
Love that song, and I imagine the mini snowmen (women and children) on the stump were there for your concert, cheering you along.
”The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Ex. 33:14 Such a wonderful promise. God loves us so much, more than we could ever comprehend.
Thank you, Karla. You are such a blessing.
Thank you, CP. You’re a blessing, too!
Beautiful words and beautiful images from a beautiful heart. <3
Thank you, dear friend. I appreciate you so much, Mitch. ❣️❣️
You are such an inspiration!
