Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Christ beside me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me.

Saint Patrick

I partly know why I have not led a perfect life like other believers. But I avow to my Lord, and I do not lie, that from the time when I first knew him, the love of God and the fear of him has grown in me from my youth so that I have, by the power of God, always till now kept the faith.-Saint Patrick

“May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door”.

Irish Blessing

Keep the faith, my friends. 💚🍀

    1. Thank you, Mark! You too! What a wonderful Monday. I don’t remember the last time I was able to begin a week with my WP family. It’s lifted my spirits! 💚

  1. You found all the best of the sparse writings of Patrick. I was already humming the “breastplate” (Christ beside me.) today. Maybe that is why your blog always touches me. It is the same Christ that surrounds us.

  2. Oh, to be Irish! Wait. I am Irish. Never mind.

St. Patrick’s Lorica, from which you quoted, has many words of encouragement regarding living in union with our God. I read it over from time to time. Our union with Him is indeed everything for which we seek.

The Celtic Christians of centuries gone by had an outsized influence on the true faith in Europe, and to a certain extent, the world. How great it is to celebrate the influence of Celtic faith in Christ instead of celebrating the often drunken shenanigans of most March 17 celebrations!

    Now, ancient an Irish blessing:

“May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

I pray this is all true for you this day and always, Karla. And for the Finley, too!

    Tim

    1. Happy day, dear Tim! I thought of you as I was putting together these quotes! The influence of Celtic faith, the rich history, minus the shenanigans, indeed!
According to Ancestry I’m a bit Irish too!
I love the Irish blessings. Visiting Ireland would be amazing, I’m sure!

Finn says thank you, Tim. She and I send big blessings to you and Rascal always!
      Thank you, dear friend.
      💚🙏🏻🙏🏻 ☘️

  3. I sometimes try to imagine what it would be like to know someone like a St Patrick. It would challenge me deeply I’m sure…great quotes. Challenge to self: “How can I let those greats who have gone before me, influence who I am becoming?”

    1. I understand that, Gary. I’ve been reading greats from years past ~ that’s a great posture to keep.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and your precious family. 💚 ☘️ 🙏🏻

Such a beautiful and powerful reflection… St. Patrick’s words always remind me of the strength we find in Christ, no matter our imperfections.

May God Continue to Bless you today and always… 🍀🙏💚

    1. Amen, brother! 💚 we are blessed to know and receive that strength~ no matter what!
I pray you are doing well, Willie.

and Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️💚☘️ or what is left of it 🥰

    1. Pam, I was wondering about your sweet Daddy. This morning when I prayed for you all, I thought I would send an email, and failed at time!

I want to catch you up! I’ll be on my email tomorrow morning.

Today has been a wonderful day. My dear friend Rita and I spent time together and I was able to get Finley outside a bit too. I pray you and your precious Daddy enjoyed the time. I bet those little grands are as cute as ever too.

I love and appreciate you so much! 💚🙏🏻💚🎶

      1. I am so thrilled yesterday was a good day, my friend! I read your email and will respond. I stayed with our 3 oldest grands today and then stayed with my Daddy for fours hours. A trip to Birmingham tomorrow. Will respond as soon as I can. Love and hugs 🙏🏻❤️

  8. A song I love that uses St Patrick’s lines is I Arise Today.
So good to see you post today little sister. You are in my prayers.
How are you? Have you been on any nature walks recently?

    1. Thank you, brother. I Arise Today. Just beautiful! How are you? I will stop by your place tomorrow.
Today I took a short nature walk ~ it’s Spring break and the place I went was packed with lots of families. Finn got a lot of belly and back rubs. The day was filled with unexpected things. Each situation reminding me of how BIG our God is~ and how small I am. I wear out fast, it seems. But I keep moving forward.
I hope you’re continuing healing and getting to enjoy life. God bless you, Matt. I appreciate you, brother!
