It’s almost here. Another year’s finale! It’s December 1st and here in S.W. Missouri we reached a high of 63. Tomorrow we may set a record high! My mums aren’t completely dead, the leaves are still around, and my Christmas wreath adorns my door. The temps aren’t the only thing fluctuating this time of year.
Is your peace pushed around by pressure? Is authentic awe alienated by entertainment? Does your joy feel jaded? Is your faith frazzled?
You made it to December.
Are you standing where you can see the star?
Are you able to sit in the glow of the tree and the son?
Moms and Dads, I’m thinking of you as you busily prepare for the holidays. Your kids will remember the magic as you rally through the mania. Grandparents, I’m thinking of you as you treasure the transport of traditions. May your memories make a meaningful mark. Alone or with many, may the magic of the message find you. You are loved.
And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. I don’t know if we’re breaking records in Arkansas, but we’ve been hitting the low seventies. We have leaves on the ground and just might leave them there until mid-February. Christmas decorations are beginning to find their way out of storage. J.

IDK how I feel about this 73° weather we’re going to be having over the next days….right in the middle of my hanging Christmas lights and having already packed and stored ALL my warm weather clothes! NAH HUMBUG! 😂

Well it’s 8°C here 46°F. It is going to get colder. It is Canada after all. We do winter. This was a lovely post. I find Christmas a little bitter sweet. I have lost both my parents and my family is in complete. I don’t dislike Christmas, I love it but I find it sad.

Hi Eddie! I’m sorry I’m so late responding! It has been very dry here. We had a cold snap on Sunday night welcomed by a hail storm and downpour for several minutes. Now we are headed towards setting a record high temp by Friday. The SW winds make it even dryer! We do indeed take what we get (and don’t throw a fit–that’s what I used to say to kids, lol). Keep enjoying life too, Eddie! Hugs!

When I learned that in my faith Christmastide begins at Christmas Eve, the pressure to have it all wrapped up by the 24th is much less of a concern.
That’s neat, Regina! I don’t feel any pressure at all since my gifts to the “kids” and grandkids are mailed off (I worried about them arriving in Alaska and Washington state in time). I love Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It’s the peace I feel with the birth of a Savior. I’m learning to embrace it in a new season of life. Merry Christmas my friend!

It’s 70 at 7:30 pm in Houston, TX this December 2nd evening. High of 79 this weekend. So hard to believe we’re wrapping up 2021.

Karla, I have been living in central Ohio for about 15 years, and I am still adjusting to the month of December without significant snow. I hold on to many memories from my many years in Montana with a more traditional “white” Christmas. Yet, the peace, hope, and joy of the season remains the same, regardless of where I might live.
Thank you for sharing, Richard. I’ve never visited Ohio. You have a personal and blessed relationship with the “snow Maker”~ peace, hope, and joy are with you both always {and the precious Montana memories you both must have}. What a blessing!
