Community Call-Final Vote and Logo-Thank you, everyone!
Happy August, my friends. It’s taken me several days to put together my thoughts. Raise your hand if you’re tired! Raise your hand if you’re hot AND tired (my heart goes out to those working in these sweltering temps!). Since starting a newsletter several days ago I’ve “run” on Savior strength, Godly grit, and adequate adrenaline. March was the last time I created a newsletter and this logo helped cultivate my creativity even more. I do hope my words help encourage you in some way; and even more, give evidence of the only truth and love that’s given me life. Do you have faith? Do you believe?
When my bones ache, I remember the body that was broken. When my blood is low, I remember the spilled blood on the cross. When I’m tired and weak, I remember the strength provided by a Savior.

Have faith 💚

I ❤️ the new logo! Perfect! And I’m grateful the timely reminder of patience, watering seeds, and future results. ☀️
Thank you so much, Kelley! I always think of you when I think of school, learning, growth, results. Praying you’re well, dear friend! 💛🙏
Always a pleasure to hear from you Karla. Congratulations on your new logo! Your little flower garden promises more blooms soon I think.
You always find the strength you need from within. I admire that.
May the remainder of summer hold pleasant days for you, wonderful surprises, excellent health reports, visits with loving family and friends, and lots of time with sweet Miss Finley….your biggest cheerleader!
With love and friendship, Ginger 💞

Your thoughts and encouragement always lift me, Ginger. Although I write for the good of my soul, it’s truly being able to interact with you and other friends, who “get” my writing that lights a fire under me~even when I’m exhausted. The flowers have been such a great growth project! And other things like herbs, lettuces, and now, tomatoes and cucumber (we will see how it goes!). I’m exhausted, Ginger. Do you sleep well? It seems that many I know are in the same boat as me~the insomnia one. It wears me out …makes it hard to “withstand” discomfort and pain at times. That strength has come from many years of finding nothing but it when the other options nearly put me down. I give God the glory (and my guts and grit a growth medal thanks to HIM)! Such sweet wishes and blessings you gave~thank you for being you. I wish and pray all that for you, Ginger. We love you~Finn and me 💚 🐾 🙏🏻💕
What a great new logo!
Thank you, MB!! ❤️💕🤗
Great post Karla, and a great logo, where did you get that original masterpiece? 🤣 It ‘feels’ good dear lady, it has grown just like your flowers. With a little patience, determination and of course, a little faith in what your heart could do…and in Him. Your season seems to be testing so many, in your journey and the weather. But your faith in Him will take you through so much. It will make you like the blooming of your lovely flowers, time to grow truly so that the final bloom will be a beauty beyond words. Yes, much patience, but yes, well worth it all. Love and light for it all kind lady, may you ever “run” on Savior strength and Godly grit. Take care and enjoy those blooms waving in the breeze for you 😀❤️🙏
Aw, Mark. THANK YOU!! Your words of wisdom always give my spirit a boost! Patience and determination-yes, my friend, …I will continue “growing” these. I never knew how much I loved to see blooms (much like watching children learn and grow, but also, such a rare thing in flowers that I’ve never fully experienced in such a way). Thank you for being you. I pray you are well and Finn and I are sending waves and love! 🐾💛
Thank you kind lady, those wishes from you both is the air that I breathe. A very profound thing touched me last night. A friend poked me in something I had a very rough time in dealing with a long time ago, and in doing so I finally saw something I had missed and was still bubbling away within. And in that moment I saw what I had been holding…and in understanding it…I let it go. I slept for the first time truly in a long time…and…breathed so much clearer and stronger the next day (today). What are those things we hold, not realizing that we hold our health, and our path, in the power of them. And the healing is that understanding of our love…our love we ever seem to hold at bay. That self love, held at bay from those things we hold, dares us to find it. And in our journey’s of that suffering does it lay. It may indeed be difficult kind lady, but like His suffering…beyond it is a very beautiful and profound thing. It may not seem like it at times, but it is a gift, a very loving one. May we both find it within this path Karla, and see the truth of His love ❤️🙏
Wow, Mark. How enlightening and spirit-lifting. Thank you for sharing this experience with me, my friend. We never stopped being “poked” when there is something residual that must be resolved. Letting it go and breathing more clearly. I feel like that describes a 10 year journey for me…and a new year long one,….a new 24 hour journey….down to the hour. I’m STILL letting things go and finding the most profound and beautiful self-love because of God’s love. You’re such a blessing for living a heart-wide-open life for all of us to see and feel! Thank you! ❤️🙏
Thank you Karla, you and Fin. And thank you for showing your wide open heart on your journey kind lady. How can I not open mine in seeing that courage of that love in you 😀❤️🙏
💛💕 awww
wonderful lines from Exodus: peace and progress, Karla 🙂
Thank you, John! I pray that for you, my friend. I do hope you’re well. I think of you when I’m driving to appts and knowing your journey. Let’s “grow” together! 🙏💛
Congratulations on the winning design! It’s terrific that YOU were the tiebreaker. It’s your logo, Karla, and no one can better decide what truly represents you the best.
Manette, thank you my friend. You should have heard me giggling when I tallied 8 to 8. It was so amazing to me that I could use the suggestions from everyone to create the “winning” one. I appreciate you, my friend. I’m sending you love and prayers as you do for me. You help my journey so much! 💛🙏
A wonderful post. I love your flower lessons. I love marigolds. I raised them with my children at school when I was teaching. We grew them in a tiny greenhouse and then transplanted them to flower beds we dug along the building. In the fall we saved the seeds and planted them again the next year, watching the different mutations that took place in the flower petals. It was great!
I love your new logo. It is perfect! Hang in there my friend. You flowering is still to come!
That is so awesome, Dwight! It makes me happy thinking of you and your students growing the marigolds in the greenhouse! This year was my “test” season. I want to harvest the seeds, too! At the oncologist’s office there was a basket of free flower seeds—4 different flowers (zinnias, salvia, and two “types of marigolds). I couldn’t help but giggle when I checked in. Really? Who would believe I was writing a story about seeds, thinking of seeds (quite some time), and they were sitting at the check-in desk? This is how blessed I feel, Dwight! Thank you for voting on the logo and your kind words! I was hoping you all could “see” the suggestions came to fruition! I’m hanging in there, my friend. I think I’m going to keep blossoming! Yay! I appreciate your support and prayers so much! 💐🙏
I am glad you enjoyed my story. If you have kindle, you can go to Amazon and read my Teacher Stories for free with kindle unlimited, it you are interested.
I do have the Kindle app! I would enjoy that very much! How wonderful, Dwight!
Karla, the new logo is perfect. Gardening is a beautiful example of hope and patience. I always love to read your thoughts, my friend. The Exodus passage is a favorite of mine. Sending love and prayers 💛🙏🏻🌸🌻🌺💚
When I think of beautiful gardens I think first, the song, ‘I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses,…” I think of Mt. Eden, my grandma’s garden, my mom and family…then, you, Pam. Gardening evokes so much about God to me. The parallels of seeds, growing, blooming,…look at your place and the love you and Butch have for God and so many. I am blessed to be a witness and to know it. It warms my heart that you love reading my thoughts. Thank you, Pam for supporting and loving me. Your prayers and influence have helped me grow so much. I’ve been reading the Bible in its entirety again. Each year, I learn more. That passage has become one of my favorites, too! I love you all. 💚💐💕
I love that song and think of it often when I am walking in my garden. God’s Word is so rich…there is so much to learn. Praying for you this morning, my friend 🙏🏻💛🙏🏻💚🙏🏻🩷
Thank you, Pam. I’m singing it with you. I slept 6 hours last night and am so thankful to God for rest. It will hit 100 here with a heat index of 110. I feel your prayers!! 💛🙏
So happy you slept 6 hours. Pray you will have healing sleep tonight!
I love the new logo!! I’m so glad the logo progress was a collaborative effort. I’m also happy to hear that it has spurred you on to greater efforts! I do look forward to your newsletters so it makes my heart happy to see another one! The prayer warriors were hard at work yesterday night – I’m hoping all those blessing went straight into your marrow!!
Good morning, Val! “Straight into the marrow!” I love that! I do know that I had a good night’s rest. And I believe in the power of prayer. It’s not something you can explain to others—I’m blessed to identify it, know it, feel it,…I live in that strength; wholeheartedly. How can I not believe? If I could I’d create the largest group hug there ever was; I’m group hugging the prayer warriors on behalf of little ol’ me. It means so much that you enjoy the newsletters. Although that platform was used for my book, it’s so fun to use it for the purpose of the blog! I appreciate you cheering me on always! I hope you know I support you the same! Love and hugs to you and Mochi! 💛
Lovely bloom. Nature is a miracle.
Thank you, Jennie! It truly is! I marvel at it!! Happy August, my friend! 💐💛
You are welcome, Karla. Keep marveling! Best to you.
Karla, you never cease to amaze me! I love the logo and the way you encourage all of us to keep the faith (and hope and patience). Sending you a big hug and keeping you in my prayers.
That’s so humbling, Crystal. Thank you so much. Look at what you’re going through and all you do~it inspires me just as you you share I encourage you. It’s such a win-win being friends. I have you in my prayer book and heart ❤️🙏🏻
Thank you so much, Karla!
You’re welcome ☺️
Thanks, Karla. The reminder for patience is so important in an instant world – when we want yesterday what won’t be ready until… well, we don’t know when. And when we factor God into the equation and his timing…
I’m still learning that his timetable doesn’t always correspond with mine!🙂🙂
Thank you, too, Malcolm! It’s my pleasure. I completely understand your thoughts! I’ve experienced that! 🙏🏻😊
I love that Godly Grit! And the logo looks really good…
Thank you, Pam! I appreciate you SO MUCH!! 💛
YES! I love your new logo! It incorporates the best of your ideas and most of all you! Your thoughts on patience – and the lessons learned in the waiting – are spot on. Praise God I am a life-long learner! Praying for many more blossoms to brighten your days and for soaring blood counts to lift you to the next level of healing. Sending love from the mountains.
Erika, I feel the love from the mountains! Thank you for your sweet comments. I love that you’re a life-long learner! I don’t see other way than to be this. I’d rather learn and lose than just lose, lol. God is so good, my friend. And wouldn’t you know it? Another blossom appeared yesterday. There was a rough spot in my day, so how perfect! We don’t have to look far to find situations worse; but we don’t have to look far to find beauty and goodness. Your prayer—soaring blood to the next level of healing—spot on! The low counts are not allowing my fracture to heal. I’m sure if the blood was better, even my bones might be better! Either way, I’m living on love and I sure appreciate that which you send! Love and hugs to you! 💛
Karla, as always I amazed
It means so much that you take time, from ALL YOU DO, to reach out. You are such a vital part of my life. I love you, Judy. Thank you, thank you. 💛❤️💕
August is abloom with friendship and determination for certain, Karla. You got it.
Yay! Thank you, Mark! I appreciate your friendship and encouragement so much! Have an amazing weekend (I always look forward to seeing all your adventures and photos!)!
Beautiful flowers! Blessings, Karla!
Thank you so much, Cindy! Blessings to you, too!💕
Karla; So great to “hear” your voice again. Congratulations on the logo and getting the newsletter out. Those are both heavy lifts.
August is traditionally monsoon season here in Colorado, so we have not been hit with the kind of oppressive heat being felt around a lot of the country. As I type this at 11:00 am, in fact, it is a cool, comfortable 74 degrees. My heart goes out to all those who cannot escape the heat. Sadly, I am afraid this summer is not a blip on the radar screen of what we can expect from here on out.
Keep the faith and keep up the good, good work.
Russell
Thank you so much, Russell! You are always so encouraging! I love Colorado, as you know, and 74 sounds wonderful! I keep up with Martha Kennedy (a dear blogging friend in Monte Vista) and the CO weather~living vicariously through you two 🥰🤪 I especially love Fall there.
I’ll keep heavy lifting as much as possible. I’ll remember to take necessary breaks too!
I’m so happy to see you~I’ll continue keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Especially for more adventures! Many blessings!
