This story, and so many just like this, details how Neuroendocrine Cancer DOES NOT discriminate! This precious Mom, who has a spirit that I can relate to, did the unimaginable in honor of her daughter!

Many NET patients are active people! We look healthy. Something we may eat could trigger symptoms. This beautiful young lady was an athlete and fought to her last breath.

As an advocate, and a continued researcher for this cancer, I refuse to give in to the negativity of being “sick”. I want to talk about my kids and grandkids, National Parks, sunsets, sunrises, the beauty in travel and staying active, the wonderful blessings of giving to others and making a difference. Yes, I’ll be wise. But I’m not going to join conversations of doomsday or let this become a dread everyday. The weekly visits and chemo regimen cannot be ALL life has to offer!

Listen to your bodies, ignore negative talk, and hang with the do-er’s. There’s energy when we allow it. There’s hope when you can’t imagine it. Find your people. Find your tribe. Find the ones that live by faith, not just speak it. For their energy will inspire you. How many valleys must one climb from before you realize that you’re an overcomer?  Some might stand on mountaintops and still think they’ll be struck by lightning! Friends, don’t!

    ‘Nothing is going to happen today that Anand and the Lord together cannot handle’

    Almost three decades later, that sign still sits on my head board and it remains true

    Karla, you are an amazing example of looking at life with a positive attitude. There will be days, and maybe you’ve already experienced them, when you can’t be positive. You simply can’t do it alone. I know you are a woman of faith, and that you know God is always there for you. You have countless folks praying for your recovery and ease of treatment. When you add your definite positivity, you can’t lose. I love you, dear child, and know that you are in good hands. One day at a time.

    1. Kathy, I love you so dearly. I think of you and Paul daily. I do experience moments of negativity, and then adjust. I’ll cry at times. And then laugh! I “purge”. I’ve been through so much in my young life. God made me for this moment. I’m never ever alone. I FEEL the prayers and lean completely on those who share positivity and faith. I feel so loved and I want to give it back. Sometimes love means setting healthy boundaries to protect yourself from negativity or worry. I don’t have time to waste. But I’m in no hurry to do anything but savor each moment I create. One minute, one hour, one day at a time! Did Paul recover well from surgery? Are you doing well? 💛💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      2. I’m so happy to hear this, Kathy. Before I went to sleep last night I found you. It’s so complicated at times when WP has glitches. I try from Safari, the Reader,… logging in and then it will say my email isn’t valid!? It can be a bit frustrating so I put it down and then try again later. Usually it works! I know I follow more than the sites it shows me on Reader. Perhaps they have it where we’ll never understand it! A perfect posture of power,… ha! I will be at your place sometime today. You are the epitome of “Living Loved,” which by the way I generally scribble in marker on the side of my left thumb (LIVE LOVED,) because I can’t bare the thoughts of living differently (or having a tattoo done to inscribe it permanently.)       1. So are you my friend. I wish I could see them live. I am doing a post Lord willing on Friday to share recent neurologist visit. He saw three suspicious areas on my brain MRI. I am scheduled on Friday for an overnight 24-hour video EEG. He mentioned possibly Epilepsy but will not make any diagnosis until video results. My migraines have gotten worse and my memory is changing. Take care and you are still in my thoughts and prayers.

    1. Pam, thank you so much my sweet friend. I’m so happy we can be encouragement for one another. Many times it’s the minor things that can be the major, especially when dealing with them on an ongoing basis. I understand this so well. I love you and pray you stay well! We have rain here now. And forecasted for weekend. I began round 3 this morning so I’ll soak it all up while prayerfully believing in miracles! 💛🙏🏻🙏🏻💕🤗
