I hear you through the bare trees~a bit of color hangs on with hope. Perspectives shift with new views and the quiet is a peaceful pause for preparedness~a celebration of the King and a new year soon.
🙏🏻❄️I sometimes dread you, but I’ll try hard to embrace you. Welcome, winter.
Short and sweet ❤️

Will you have a white snow covered Christmas?
We have vacationed at Table Rock Lake a couple times. Beautiful country and good fishing.

Hi Gary! Unlike your temps we’re headed to the upper 60’s and low 70’s this weekend. I was hoping for a white Christmas. My sons and their families, in Alaska and Washington, are sure to have one. I love this area and grew up on the lake and spent many years camping and trout fishing in our lakes and rivers. It continue to grow. Sadly, one of my favorite views is covered by condos ~bound to happen. There are always other views, though. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Hot and humid! Had a beautiful swim in the ocean this morning, so strange seeing pictures of snow on your side as can’t imagine being cold.

I thought that might be what you share! In my area it’s warmer. We will have springlike temps through and after Christmas. No snow. Our winters aren’t bad~we’ll have periods of frigid temps, have had our share of ice storms in past years, but we’re relatively mild compared to other parts of the country. Ours fluctuates all the time. One day T-shirts and the next day sweaters! How beautiful you swam in the ocean, Kate. And we have the same moon and sun. So amazing. Today is our shortest day; first day of winter solstice. Although we are so close to the sun (give or take a few miles out of 90 million), the tilt made today our shortest (9 1/2 hours app.). My oldest son and family are in Fairbanks, Alaska~very dark and cold these times of year. My youngest son and family in Washington ~also snowy and colder. It all varies so much! But summers are hot everywhere. Lol. Our humidity does get high here in summer.

I would love to embrace winter if it weren’t so stinking cold!! The snow makes everything look fresh and clean – sparkly even!

I understand, Valerie. My bones hurt in the wet cold. Snow is so magical to me. And quiet. Unless it becomes ice and no way! I love your description! I enjoy a beautiful snowfall and 40’s-80’s near mountains, lol.

Winter to me is a warm blanket curled up in front of the fireplace drinking hot tea. It’s time to rest, to reflect and to plan. May this holiday season treat you with kindness and may you find your joy close by. Stay well my friend.

Being exposed to all four seasons is one of God’s richest blessings. There is something magical, yet contemplative about winter. It is a season that gives us time to think through life – to meditate on the important things of life – to enjoy the glory of God. All the etchings through the frost on our windows to the carpet of new fallen snow, glittering like a bed of diamonds. It is a lovely time. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas in your new home and have time to spend with family. Love you, pretty lady.

Kathy, what a beautiful winter description. It really is a lovely time~there are things that I struggle with in colder weather, yet, every season has its beauty and challenges. I’m truly learning to embrace the contemplation. Love you too precious lady. 💙

I think “mild” may be a matter of interpretation. I think it’s freezing here when it falls below 60.

Lol! So true! Mild to me is 40’s and above! I always dreamed of going somewhere warm (dry like Arizona) in winter. But I’d have to have some winter because of the sheer beauty!

Karla, your photos witness our Creator’s hand. While we had snow last Christmas ( happens about 20 percent of the time), we were awash with winter rain this time around.

Thank you, Richard. We had one of the top 5 warmest Christmas days on record (about 70 at my house)! It’s very mild, but Missouri weather can change instantly. I think we’ll have some rain soon! Stay safe and blessed.
