Happy Bobby Jo Gentry Day — The Yoga Cowgirl

It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day….Today, Billy Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge.

Happy Bobby Jo Gentry Day — The Yoga Cowgirl

According to an article at songfacts.com Bobbie Gentry explained, “The message of the song revolves around the nonchalant way the family talks about the suicide. The song is a study in unconscious cruelty.” Bobbie made marvelous moves in her craft. Additionally, she loved philosophy. Happy June 3rd. I hope the conversations around your tables are loving, understanding, fun, and meaningful.

Have faith 🤍

    1. Me too, Laura. Not that we don’t have good singers and writers today, but there’s something about the music of our past that runs deeper? Or it’s just me. Lol I love simplicity of the storytelling and an acoustic guitar. ❤️🤗
