Meanwhile during the pandemic…

In the midst of the unknown what didnāt change was a diseased and useless leg on my furry companion, Finley. It has been said, ādogs have 3 legs and a spare.ā
As a fellow blogger stated, āDogs are such stoic positive creatures, I often think they are better off for not having the words to describe…āathousandbitsofpaper.comš
This little sweetie had something holding her back, giving her pain, and slowing her down. She played anyway. Number four leg, creating the ātypicalāanatomically correct pooch, was nothing but a stumbling block. Yesterday morning I gave her lots of hugs and kisses (and admittedly shed a few tears). I confidently handed her to the experts. She was in good hands.
Sheāll have a few āouchyāsā and some rough patches. Amazingly, she doesnāt seem to even notice the absence of the worthless leg. Literally a weight, although tiny, was lifted. Arenāt dogs extraordinary healers? (I know miraculous humans stories tooš)
Yes, sheās just a dog. But she carries a lesson for me. Whatās dangling, painful, and useless hanging in your life? Whatās dragging you down and causing your entirety to suffer? Is an amputation needed? If you have lost parts you truly needed, Iām sorry~ I know a healer who can restore. Do what you need to live more abundantly.
āIn just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence.ā

Have faith š

We have so much to learn from dogs. It’s so hard to “hand them off” to the experts, but sometimes we must, and clearly this was one of those times for you and her. I’m betting she’s going to show her thanks in a newly-found exuberance as she explores life with three healthy legs, the fourth long-forgotten. Wishing good health to you both!

Anyone who believes she is ‘just’ a dog, doesn’t not understand. She is one of God’s children ‘just’ like we are. Glad she is doing well!

Our fur babies are precious indeed, and mine delivers valuable lessons to me on a regular basis – patience being #1.
Your questions “Whatās dangling, painful, and useless hanging in your life? Whatās dragging you down and causing your entirety to suffer? Is an amputation needed?” strike a chord with me.
I’m sorry your little one had to suffer to bring this revelation, and I hope for all of our continued good health.

What a beautiful little hero. Dogs amaze me daily. I remember when Mindy (my former Aussie, RIP) was no longer able to take a walk with us. She walked to the end of the alley and stopped, saying, “Martha, take me home. It hurts too much to go further.” She wasn’t bitching and wailing and gnashing her teeth as I would have been (have been). She just saw reality and accepted it. Give your little one a hug for me. ā¤

Sooooo Karla, how about that? You also talking about dangling parts, suffering and rescue? Your dog is precious. It was often said to me when our boys were young how resilient kids are. Not all of them I am afraid. But when with God, nothing is impossible. May your pup continue to amaze! P.S. Is that a family member in the pic with your dog? Love in Christ, Julie

I am happy George came through with flying colors. Many years ago, my Uncle Bill had a three-legged Pug. She scampered around the house with amazing balance and grace. I appreciate how you took George’s journey and flipped it around to remind us of the restoring spirit of our Lord. God’s peace!
